A Good Starter Book, but in No Way a Complete Guide

As a recent pitbull owner, I found this short book informative and entertaining, but in NO WAY any kind of "complete guide to Pit Bulls!" Much of the information is common sense. However, I had not had a dog for several years, so this shallow oh yeah dive into (among other topics) "raising, feeding, training, exercising [and] grooming" served as a good reminder of some dog things I haven't thought about for a while. Definitely gave me some food for thought and provided plenty of ideas for further, deeper reading.

I recommend this short book as an early read for a prospective or a newer pitbull owner. But if you've already started doing your dog homework, I doubt there's much here that you haven't already seen. Remember, (in my opinion) each dog is an individual and, as a book can give you general breed traits, your pitbull pup may have a personality vastly different than what "most" of the breed exhibits. I have found my pitbull to be a wonderful, smart, headstrong, emotional, loyal, pretty lazy, totally un-aggressive dog that loves (and I mean loves) everyone! In fact, as a wounded warrior, he is my service dog. He goes literally everywhere with me (dining – from McDonald's to a 5-Star restaurant, movie theater, hiking, bike riding, shopping, the supermarket, the mall, and the beach, to name a few) and is the best dog I've ever had.

Just like the title says, complete

I had all negative ideas about the pit bull and when my grandkids got one as a gift I was terrible upset. then I read this book and my attitude changed. I have read several books on pit bulls. But this book was the best. The other books all confirmed that the pit bull would be a wonderful dog and their good with kids. Now I want my own pit bull, I need a loyal, loving and gentle friend. all said there not much of a guard dog but I will have my dog trained to protect me and be like a service god. I already got his name picked out. Ceasar

Great book

I just adopted a pitbull puppy. I was listening while I played fetch with her. When I heard the last few sentences of the book as my pitbull looked up at me smiling, I had the biggest smile on my face and moment of realization that I had rescued the BEST dog!
