well researched scholarly work

This is an excellent book, but the narrator stinks. I can't think of another way to say it. He mispronounces all but the easiest names, mispronounces English words! He can't begin to handle names such as Artaxerxes. I hate to give such a bad review, but it's true. I gave the book a four because the book is just so good.

Great understanding of Daniel

Narrator butchers names and makes it difficult to follow players in Daniel’s prophecy. Narrator should have verified pronunciations

Idiot narrator

This classic book should have been narrated by someone who took the time to learn how to pronounce the words of Scripture and history in the proper manner. Either that or try a monkey...... The results might be more accurate.

Terrible narrator, great story

The narrator was obviously not familiar with the Bible, as so many locations and names were mispronounced that it made it difficult to understand and get into flow of the book

Sing song narrator

Good content. But the narrator was very distracting and tiresome. Mispronounced words and no varied voice inflection.

Great Content!! Mispronunciation and poor flow from narrator

I really love this book, but the mispronunciation and poor flow is really distracting from the book. I would love to have a new narration of this book done. Please buy the book to read and study and don’t let this poor narration distract from the content.

Narrator is one of the Worst I’ve Heard :-(

The book is a classic… But, the narrator I’m sorry to say is not at all easy to listen to. And he mispronounces so many names and places it was cringe to listen to at times.

The content is good, albeit dated in its language. But overall a solid 2.5 out of 5.

Great content. Unimpressive narration.

Content is excellent.
Narrator's pronunciation of people's names, historical places, and theological terms is terrible.

just get it

there's a few places where pronunciation of names was foreign to me ( nebuchadnezzar, antiochus epiphanes, etc) but its worth pushing through.. absolutely stellar especially considering its age.. and speaking of ages I recommend following it up with Alexander hislop s the two babylons, and Immanuel vellikovsky s worlds in collision for a thorough survey of the symbolism in babylon and an anthropological look at the 360 day year of the ancients.. itll send you reeling into the books of Joshua, Daniel, kings and chronicles with a new sense of just how profound the texts of scripture really are. and it'll highlight the sheer paucity of the atheist objection trope " bUt WhAt AbOuT oThEr RelIgIoNs!?!?"

The Narrator makes this very difficult to listen to

The material itself is great. The monotone rambling style of the narrator and the fact that it seems that he goes out of his way to mispronounce words makes it very difficult to stay focused on what the book is saying.
