About this listen

In The Case of the Case of Kilcladdich, golden-age gadabout Anty Boisjoly travels to the timeless source waters of Glen Glennegie to help decide the fate of his family’s favourite ferment, but an impossible locked room murder is only one of a multitude of mysteries that try Anty’s wits and witticisms to their northern limit.

Time trickles down on the traditional tipple as Anty unravels family feuds, ruptured romance, shepherdless sheep, and a series of suspiciously surfacing secrets to sort out who killed whom and how and why and who might be next to die.

Tim Bruce returns as ever-optimistic Anty, his heirloom valet Vickers, and two entire Scottish villages, sheep included, and manages to keep everyone distinct and distilled and delightful, even after the whisky kicks in during a golf match which is hilarious on paper but which Tim raises to a pro tour de force.

The Case of the Case of Kilcladdich is another stand-alone, locked room puzzler for those who like a little kidding in their killing and mirth in their mystery, and wouldn’t object one bit to a conspiracy between Agatha Christie and PG Wodehouse.

So much fun!

I was slightly bored for just a very brief time at the beginning, but it quickly took off and was highly entertaining the rest of the way! Tim Bruce has been one of my favorite Audible narrators since the first time I heard him as Anty Boisjoly, and I think the Case of the Case of Kilcladdich has put him up to #1 on my list. His reading of it, especially the scene where Anty and Budge go golfing, had me quite literally laughing out loud!

An absolute celebration of the marriage of humour & mystery!

It was a long way to go (3 hours and 39 minutes to be exact) for that counting sheep joke, but it was still so well played that I laughed out loud in spite of my being in the throes of a wicked seasonal flu!
I do wish PJ Fitsimmons would write these incredible books faster and that Tim Bruce should never be too busy to narrate them, but that's selfish of me.
So, hey, when do we get the next book?!? Pleeeaase!!?

awesome performance by Tim Bruce

Bruce's performance enhanced this story of greed, broken hearts, murder, whisky and golf. The action takes place in a small village in Scotland, and Bruce created different voices for each of the characters, not just the English ones. Highly recommended

All I can say is “more please”

This series takes me away and is so much fun. Tim Bruce is an incredible narrator. PJ Fitzsimmons has a fabulous gift as a writer. Thank both of you for the pleasure you provide.

Another amazing tale in the Anty Boisjoly series

I loved this. I could hardly concentrate on work because I kept listening to the story. Which is told by no one like he can read it, Tim Bruce. The witty alliterations and clever mysteries keep me coming back for more! I actually laugh out loud which is not a euphemism, it’s quite literal. My favorite historical mystery series.

The wit and humor of the writing is paired perfectly with the narrator!

As were all of the other Anty Boisjoly mysteries, this was a delightful romp. This time Anty travels to solve a mystery regarding two rival highland whisky distilleries. Accompanied by sheep, Anty solves not one but several mysteries and charms even the London-despising policeman and ends a long standing feud. In short, another triumph for P. J. Fitzsimmons and Tim Bruce.

Great narration

The sheep cameos were funny little bits throughout the story. Anty tends to be overly verbose so sometimes I got lost but the narrator kept things entertaining. Also, this wasn’t easy to figure out.

So Much Fun!

I have loved all the Anty Boisjoly books, but I think this is the best one yet, PJ Fitzsimmons certainly has wit and a way with words. The narration by Tim Bruce is wonderful and adds to the enjoyment of this book. I look forward to Anty's next adventure.
