About this listen

Who was in the manger that first Christmas morning? And how can we know for sure? In The Case for Christmas, award-winning legal journalist Lee Strobel tells us that somewhere beyond the traditions of the holiday lies the truth.

Some say that newborn baby would become a great moral leader. Others, a social critic. Still others view Jesus as a profound philosopher, a rabbi, a feminist, a prophet, and more. Many are convinced he was the divine Son of God. But who was he really?

Consulting experts on the Bible, archaeology, and messianic prophecy, Strobel searches out the true identity of the child in the manger, analyzing:

  • Eyewitness Evidence--Can the biographies of Jesus be trusted?
  • Scientific Evidence--What does archaeology reveal?
  • Profile Evidence--Did Jesus fulfill the attributes of God?
  • Fingerprint Evidence--Did Jesus uniquely match the identity of the Messiah?

Join Strobel as he invites you to push past the distractions of the holiday season and come into the presence of the baby who was born to change your life and rewrite your eternal destination: the greatest gift of all.

One of my favorite authors

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I should have realized that it might be simply a shortened version of his Case for Christ, however, there was enough new material that made it very worthwhile for me.

A great read for Christmas

This is basically an abridged version of Lee Strobel's book, The Case For Christ that focuses on on the evidences for the Biblical narrative about the birth of Jesus. Lee Strobel is always an interesting read and he does a great job narrating as well.

Well researched

Well researched, and well presented. The narrator was the author author, and his passion came through.

this could be more aptly named the case for Jesus

I liked it, we're going over this book in our Bible study and I wanted to be able to listen to it while driving. this does a good job of making clear points directly and doesn't dance around them. I also like how the author directly hits on a couple points that I thought were contentious. overall an easy listening that's under 3 hours.

did not answer my questions

Well, I was hoping for a more specific investigation on the Christmas holiday, its origins, tradition, historical background. This is more like a Case for Christ than a Case for Christmas, and what all this tradition has to do with Him. To celebrate His birthday on December 25th, while we do not even know when He was born. More importantly, it is not God's commandment to do so. Yet keeping The Lord's Supper to remember His death and resurrection, is.

If like me, you are searching for more on the origins of the Christmas holiday and traditions, waste no time with this book. It won't offer much apart from a few side notes.

However, if you are familiar with The Case for Christ, then consider this a shorter version of that. And you may enjoy it.

The presentation of the facts.

Very interesting and compelling. I particularly like the interviews with others and that the author isn’t afraid to ask hard questions.

Great book to refocus attention on Christ during the holiday season.

Great book to refocus attention on Christ during the holiday season. It is, however, a shortened version of
the author’s “Case for Christ.”

Short and very sweet!

Loved this concise and compelling account of Strobel’s search for the truth about Jesus’ identity. A must-read for those searching for and those who have found Jesus!

A Christmas focused case for Christ

I particularly liked the Christmas sidebar content. I also liked the story of a Jewish preacher's journey to faith ... believing in the embodiment of evil before believing in good.
