The boy begging for help in my nightmares is very real. He's trapped, and it's up to me and Mason to get him out. The trouble is, we have to find him first.

Something is very wrong with the Fitzwilliam estate. It was supposed to be a regular seance job. But from the minute I met an angry ghost in the hall, I knew there wasn't going to be anything ordinary about this house or its dead residents. First of all, there were way too many of them. Second, some of them had been helped along from living to dead. Third, my attempt to figure out what was going on got a bit sidetracked when I met the gardener. He was tall, dark green, and handsome. And really, really smart. So I hired him to help me figure out what was going on.

Needs a trigger warning
I like this series so far; the worldbuilding is good, the stories are interesting, and Ward & Mason are very likeable MCs. However, as another commenter mentioned, there’s an extremely graphic on-page sexual assault in this one, and it comes out of absolutely nowhere. It has nothing to do with the overall plot of the book, there’s no need for it to drive the story, and the consequences for it are very minor compared to how traumatic it was to read. Honestly, it just felt like a way to further harm that character because the author has a hurt/comfort kink.
I haven’t read the rest of the series yet, so I’m not sure if you need to know the plot of this one to read the others (or if they’re even worth reading), but if you have any doubts at all about reading this particular book, SKIP IT.

Intense SA scene
There was not enough of a warning for a very intense, detailed and graphic SA scene. If I could unread this story I would just for the lack of respect given to the SA and the lack of warning for the SA. It really really upset me as a former SA victim. It was gratuitous and unnecessary.
