I had a difficult time listening to the narrator but I got used to her… the story had good “bones” but many sections seemed to drag on and on. There were funny sections also. The plot did many twists so you had to pay attention to the many characters as well.

something fascinating and different
fascinating combo of unusual historical viewpoint and touching romance. very enjoyable. seamless and highly competent narration. I will definitely look for more from this author.

Clever story and interesting historical details
The story was clever and the forbidden romance was very sweet (and steamy). I didn’t care for the narrator and sometimes had a hard time distinguishing the characters, but wanted to finish to see Marianne and Sin’s story to the end.
