About this listen

What does the US government do when they run out of money? They seize the assets of hardworking Americans and count on the fact that most citizens will never stand up for their rights. However, Joshua Anderson, a logger by trade and small business owner, is not the typical American citizen. When the government threatens his family and attempts to steal his assets, Joshua is forced into hiding.

The government thought that Joshua would be an easy mark. They thought that they could easily find him, arrest him, and bury him, so no one would ever know what they are doing. They thought that no one would ever support a "criminal". They thought wrong.

The only way to stop tyranny is to rise and stand against the corruption. In what will forever be known as the Bonner Incident, Joshua battles for the rights of every American. With overwhelming odds leveled against him, Joshua couldn't possibly hope to win a war with the US government, or could he? After all, what can one man possibly do when he's opposed by a force of thousands?

Very happy with this story on audiable

Would you consider the audio edition of The Bonner Incident: Joshua's War to be better than the print version?

I loved the book and the audio version was very nice. Having done both I do like the audio

What other book might you compare The Bonner Incident: Joshua's War to and why?

This was my first audio book I read and listen to both the first and second book

What about Eric A. Shelman’s performance did you like?

It was done very well enjoyed it a lot.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Many places moved me but one stands out is when they get William back Sonya would have kille to have her baby back and Nana with that big shotgun gunning for the feds holding William was just to much. You don't mess with family

Any additional comments?

This was a great story and I loved it and all of the good people in it.

Exciting ride as the people fight back

Where does The Bonner Incident: Joshua's War rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This sequel, and the series as a whole, is now ranked among some of my personal favorites.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The guerrilla war waged by Joshua, and then the people as a whole, was intense, original, spontaneous, and exciting. The story tells of one man with the will and the skill to stand his ground, on his home turf, against a bureaucracy hellbent on saving face and refusing to allow a precedent of liberty and law be set against them.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this series to any fans of prepper/SHTF stories. This paints an inspiring picture of standing up for the rights paid for by others, against tyrants that never truly go away. Events like those in this book only occur by the people's consent, and the freedoms and rights we take for granted have consented to a far cry from where we started already. Not saying to do what Joshua did, but worth paying attention to avoid it ahead of time. (case in point with the gun ban bill put forth today)

I just wish it had a 3rd book in this series. I loved the characters, made me feel like I knew each one personally.

Gripping

The closure to The Bonner Incident was grand. And the "introduction" at the end was worth more than gold to this writers heart. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Welcome to the Watchlist

If you purchase this book, I’m positive you’ll be put on some kind of list. But if you’re not already on a watchlist, of some kind, you’re probably not living right anyway. The series was awesome. While a few things are unrealistic and “hand-wavy” (easy comms eavesdropping, state government’s response at the end, extent of minutemen), overall it’s a very plausible story. And demonstrates what a 4GW insurgency could look like. There’s a big difference between dudes that look and speak differently, wear man-dresses, sandals, and use rusted out 60 year old guns; and a dude that looks, speaks, dresses, and acts like your neighbor, and is armed with access to current information, technology, and firearms. I pray that day never comes, because it would be bad for everyone.

A Great Adventure

I've waited a long time for this book to come out on Audibles, so when it finally did, I stopped another book and began this one immediately. I loved this book and highly recommend this series to anyone who wants an edge of your seat type adventure! I think I'll go through both books again starting today!

Joshua's War

I really loved listening to this book, thanks to the writing of Thomas Watson and Michael L Rider and the narrative by Eric A. Sherman. This two book series kept me on pins and needles worrying about Joshua and his family. When the government throws all it has at you trying to kill you just to get your property, well that has to be scary as hell. I would have loved meeting Mr. Mike and having a sit down with him and just listen to his tales. I bet he had more to tell! Y'all need to read this story, if I haven't said it yet, it is amazing.

Excellent from start to finish

Captures the heart of liberty loving Americans and demonstrates to the reader real law that protects the unalienable rights of the people.
