Blue Blazes is a violent noir fantasy, sweet in a way. I probably won't reread it; too weird.

Okay okay, I read the name Mookie Pearl and thought I might be let down by the book.
Shameful I know (somehow its beyond judging a book by its cover, judging a book by a character's name)
I've read The Miriam Black books by Chuck Wendig and thoroughly enjoyed them. I'm not sure why I was not so interested in this one. But I bit the bullet and bought it.

Good choice.

Wendig does no wrong.

(Well, he may, but not in any of his books)
(If he reads that I'm sure he'll laugh, after he punches me)

(Also, nice Yuengling mention, a Pennsylvania original)

Was hesitant at first

Fantastic story, great reading. Gross and beautiful and as deeply violent as is is compassionate.

Fantastic
