Acerca de esta escucha

In early 1925, the Honorable Daisy Dalrymple Fletcher - recent mother of twins - resumes her journalistic career by agreeing to write a piece about the Tower of London - the Bloody Tower - for an American magazine. Invited to observe the centuries-old ritual Ceremony of the Keys, she's spending the night (her first time away from her babies), since the complex is locked and guarded, and the high walls are surrounded by a disused moat.

Having been given a tour of the Crown Jewels, interviewed and observed the Yeoman Warders, and met the Raven Master, Daisy has more than enough material for her article and decides to leave as early as possible the next morning to return to her family. But when walking down the stairs, she almost trips over the dead body of one of the Yeoman Warders. That there's something seriously amiss cannot be denied due to the pike sticking out of his back. With her husband, Scotland Yard DCI Alec Fletcher, assigned to resolve the case, Daisy once again finds herself in the middle of a case of murder most foul.

My favorite cozy mystery series. Ms. Raynor brings the characters to life. I’ve listened to every book in the series at least once.

Love the series and the narrator

omg the nasally snideness of the narrator got on my nerves. I wish Alec, at least, sounded more passionately enamored of Daisy. He sounds as dismissive and snarky toward her as any of the toffs.

love these books, but...

This was a very pleasant, cozy mystery. I really recommend it all heartedly. Very pleasant

I enjoyed this mystery

Enjoyed the historical background as well as the plot twists and turns, as always with Carola Dunn’s books.

Another Good Story

I enjoyed the tale and the telling of it. This narrator does a great job with what in my opinion is a very good story. The author develops the main characters while introducing the characters involved in this mystery. I found it very enjoyable.

Enjoyed Storyline

it is another excellent Daisy and Alec mystery. Alec is given more of a center stage with his police work and questions. Daisy of course is crucial to the puzzle but it is clear Alec could have solved it with out her eventually.

as usual a wonderful cast of characters for alec and daisy to play off of and this time the tower of london is a great setting for the crime. a good adventure and even if you figure out the malefactor. i was interested enough that I hope some of these people return for future stories.

my one critique is that I would have enjoyed seeing fhe actual reaction of Belinda, Alec, Daisy, and all their families and friends to the fact Daisy had twins. With such a diverse and engaging cast of characters I would have enjoyed seeing that part even if it jsnt crucial to the main plot.

a good mystery but I wanted to see more

The Bloody Towers are another good addition to a highly entertaining cozy mystery series. I look forward to the next one.

What a treat this story was! I was totally engaged the entire time and never wished the story to hurry up. The history of the Tower interspersed throughout the story reminded me not only of my own visit “across the pond” to the Tower, but of how much history can be lost if we don’t keep it going. I chuckled when Daisy mentioned how America can’t even claim that much history even if they went back to Christopher Columbus! Another great Daisy cozy!

Good Story, Good History

I love the Daisy Dalrymple mysteries and the narrator does an excellent job overall! For some reason, with this installment I had a hard time focusing in the beginning and keeping my attention… I think it had to do with the cast of characters in this one for some reason. It seemed like this one had a little less Daisy in it due to the nature of the situation… Still quite a bit, but I just prefer more Daisy! I would rate 5 stars if there had been more Daisy 😊

A little more Daisy preferred 😊🌼

Another great story and once again the author shows great fortitude by tackling sensitive and unpleasant subjects head on. My one complaint is the narrator. She does a good job with different dialects, etc, but her female voices can be so sing-song that I want to tell her to get ahold of herself. However, I was able to put aside my hatred for parts of the narration and I continue to enjoy this series.

That sing-song voice, nooooooooooo!
