Acerca de esta escucha

A stoner, an Instagram model, a Czech oligarch, and a missing unicorn. Nick Fox and Kate O’Hare have their work cut out for them in their weirdest, wildest adventure yet in this latest entry in this New York Times best seller by Janet and Peter Evanovich.

Straight arrow FBI agent Kate O’Hare always plays by the rules. Charming con man Nicholas Fox makes them up as he goes along. She thinks he’s nothing but a scoundrel. He thinks she just needs to lighten up. They’re working together to tackle the out-of-bounds cases ordinary FBI agents can’t touch. And their relationship? Well, there hasn’t been so much explosive chemistry since Nitro was introduced to Glycerin.

Next on the docket: The mysterious disappearance of the Silicon Valley billionaire known as the Big Kahuna. Kate’s been assigned to find him, but no one seems particularly keen on helping. His 26-year-old adult actress turned Instagram model wife and his shady Czech business partner are more interested in gaining control of his company. For that they need a dead body, not a living Kahuna.

The only lead they have is the Kahuna’s dropout son, who’s living the dream in Hawaii - if your dream is starting your day with the perfect wave and ending it with a big bowl of weed. To get close to the Kahuna’s son, Kate and Nick go undercover as a married couple in the big wave, bohemian surfer community of Paia, Maui. Living a laid back, hippy-dippy lifestyle isn’t exactly in Kate’s wheelhouse, but the only thing more horrifying is setting up house with Nick Fox, even if he does look pretty gnarly on a longboard. If they don’t catch a break soon, waves aren’t the only thing she’s going to be shredding (or bedding).

I wish it hadn't felt so long. It was missing the "con" element from the get go, no oceans eleven here, more like a spy story without any impressive twists. I will keep the other ones in my library but this one I'll be returning, one listen was enough.

The weakest of all the books

More cartoon than caper. Nick and Kate seem to have forgotten their previous intimacy. Kate is a pale version of herself. Previous installments were crisp and funny; this is a thinly woven series of explosions. Somewhat amusing, but lacking depth and polish.

Not as good

Series is bad without Lee Goldberg. This book feels so out of place with the relationships already established

Not the same

Felt like it was written by an overactive 13-year-old with too many hormones. Not up to par

Compared to original Nick stories, Cheesey

This is my favorite Fox and O’Hare book out of all of them. Love Nick Fox💗 His is right up there with Ranger, Morelli, and Jamie Fraser. The list of fictional characters is getting longer and longer.

My favorite Fox and O’Hare book!!!

So, yeah. Maybe it's missing a beat, but at the heart of this latest adventure with Kate and Nick, there's still the characters we've come to love. I hope they come back strong with at least one more that is on par with the first five. Nick could have been a little more clever and played more chess than checkers, but I enjoyed Jake being able to have a little more fun. Sure, we missed some of the usual supporting cast, but I think that's not all bad either. This episode started off rough and continued its "cousin" vibe, but they brought the nose around in the end to redeem the book worthy of being included in the series. Over all it may not have been a bullseye but it certainly hits the target, kind of like Canadian radio to an American audience; good, really similar even, just something a little different about it.

They're at it again No homer but a good line drive

Was the old gang left out because they were characters written by Lee Goldberg her ex- collaborator? At least it still had the toblerone ending!

I miss the old gang.

The combination of writers and narrator is so off the charts. This series has become one of my favorites. Scott Brick can bring life to any story. I so want to be Kate with Nick as my partner. Yes sirree, laugh and be gooey at the same time.

Oh, Yes!!!

I'm a big fan of this series and I can't wait for the next one. This book disappointed me a little. It seemed like Nick and Kate were always at each others throats and bickering. That's their thing, I get that, but it was too much in regards to how their relationship had progressed. Nick also didn't come across quite as suave and nonchalant. It's one of my favorite aspects of his character. Cosmo was annoying but definitely made me laugh.

Not My Favorite, Still Good

This was a little sillier than the previous in this series, a few mild inconsistencies but all in all still a delightful story. I enjoyed it. I love the relationship between Kate and Nick. The secondary characters add great dimension. If you like adventure, romance and the good guys winning in the end, this is a great book for you.

A Little Silly but Lots of Fun
