Perspective shift
This book was a big perspective shift. It talked about how most of the negativity we have in our own lives is not from what other people tell us, but from what we allow ourselves to believe. Wow, it really shifts the blame away from others and puts the responsibility squarely on our own shoulders. But I think that's good. I don't want to live my life as the victim, I want to live as the hero of my own story. And heroes have responsibilities. And this book provides practical steps for changing negative thought patterns and increasing self-confidence.

Defeat Negativity to Fulfill Your Destiny
Self love is not easy, but this author strives to convey how to improve one's existence by describing how to develop healthy levels of self-awareness, self-esteem, self-acceptance and self-respect on the way to personal empowerment. We all know we should avoid negative thoughts but all too often people struggle with negativity, which breeds more negativity, and negativity spreads until it becomes a default if not guarded against. Negativity kills confidence and too many people are content to live in that mental wasteland.
However, Mr. McGee goes in-depth on topics like setting goals; reworking negative self-talk to rebuild self-confidence; consciously breaking bad habits and building new ones; on the way to develop more positivity--and in turn, a more successful life. A great guide in self confidence

This book is perfect for anyone who wants to improve their life and doesn't know where to start. It highlights generating positivity and allowing yourself to see things through a different lens. It points out how negativity poisons life and is contagious. It teaches the importance of goals and how they enhance every aspect of life. We need to write our goals down and immediately take positive action towards them. I learned that it takes thirty days to form habits. We have to get outside of our comfort zone to see our potential. Fear is our worst enemy. To inculcate habits that help us reach our goals, we need to track our time. Self-love, self-acceptance, self-awareness, and self-respect are vital qualities that we should constantly cultivate. We must overcome previous stigmas of money and embrace it. Mindfulness practices and gratitude are two habits that the book gives details about cultivating. The book teaches us to make habits and start small and immediately. It encourages us to have at least one accountability partner to help us stay on track. I feel rejuvenated and ready to continue inculcating positive habits in my life to reach my goals.
