Just a day and a half into her trip to the little mountain town of Ambler Ridge, Aylin Dickinson is already in over her head. The house she inherited is hardly habitable, and she has no money to make the necessary repairs. She doesn’t know anyone in town, and she gets off on the wrong foot with the first few locals she meets.
If Aylin inherited anything from her grandmother besides a decrepit old house, it’s a knack for being resourceful. Still, luck isn’t on her side. Her chance to make some much-needed money catering a wedding at the local inn ends in disaster when the groom turns up dead before the ceremony. The small-town police force is less than equipped to investigate a suspicious death, and with a major snowstorm crippling their already limited efforts, Aylin finds herself in the middle of a real whodunnit.
For every answer she finds, another question surfaces. When the clouds finally break and the roads clear, nothing is as it seemed before – not the town, the tragic death of the groom, her late grandmother, nor herself.
