About this listen

An innocent girl escapes an evil empire.

But the danger is only beginning.

What seems like a simple bodyguard job will see Conryu dragged halfway across the world and into a war between monsters. If that isn't bad enough, the La Fey Society is mixed up with the mad emperor.

After surviving the war, it's time for some fun and games. At least until a group of terrorists show up intent on killing all the contestants.

Despite Conryu's best efforts, the Le Fay Society is on the verge of freeing their leader. If they succeed, all hell is going to break loose.

The Aegis of Merlin Omnibus: Vol. 2 contains four complete novels: Escape the Dragon Czar, Wrath of the Dragon Czar, The Four Nations Tournament, and Death Incarnate.

Well worth the credit

This series falls comfortably into the YA Fantasy sub-genre. The MC is a bit naive by failing to fell an antagonist twice when he had the chance and who ultimately was the responsible for unleashing Morgana who caused many hundreds of lives. Otherwise, the MC has advanced in power gradually even though he is gifted with all of the elemental traits available. This make for a more engaging story rather than being OP early on. It's unclear whether the only male wizard coming on the scene is the cause of the catastrophic events emerging or whether it's just happenstance but they do seem to mostly play nice and not pile up on him.

The narrators, Joe Hempel and Jesse Vilinsky, perform very well but I give Ms. Vilinsky extra notice due to her ability easily mimic a number of accents and dialects but also mimics male voices well.

Great continuation to the series

This actually includes books 4.5-8 not just 5-8, though 4.5 is actually just the original story for a new character, and only mentions the main character from the first four books in passing. Her background plays a pivotal roll in book 5 so it's a nice addition and well done. If you liked this first four books in the series this is a great addition. The main character's power grows and the action escalates nicely. I'm hoping for a third omnibus.

Masterful storyteller.

Mr. Wisher couples fantastic world-building with an amazing story. I downloaded the entire series and still want more.

Horrible wish I never purchased

I couldn't even get past the first two chapters ...the narration was horrible and I kept hoping it would get better but it didn't
