Acerca de esta escucha
Many Christians have a limited view of God and His Kingdom. For centuries we have viewed His Kingdom and His Kingdom agency, the Church, from the limited perspective of our own experiences and the traditions of man. With such a narrow perspective, it is no wonder most people think there has to be something more to this than what we are currently seeing. And there is! The Advancing Kingdom offers a fresh perspective on the Kingdom of God by rising above what we have seen in the Church so far and taking a look at what it could be and will be. God has in mind a glorious expression of His Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven, expressed through a people full of revelation, power and unprecedented love. In The Advancing Kingdom, Jonathan Welton and Jim Wies have done an incredible job of debunking and unmasking the doctrinal error which the church has embraced as biblical truth. They offer hope and exciting anticipation regarding the posture and function of the Body of Christ in the coming days.

For many years, Christians and non-Christians alike have struggled to reconcile the seemingly conflicting depictions of God found in the Bible. How can the legalistic punishing God of the Old Testament also be the loving father that Jesus revealed in the New Testament? The key to answering this question lies in understanding that the Bible is the story of God's covenantal relationship with humanity, and this story plays out through five major covenants. Once you understand these five major covenants, the entire Bible will finally make sense!

The end-times have become the king of the sacred cows for the modern Church. Jonathan fearlessly treads where most leaders will not and asks questions that many thirst to ask but can't articulate. Questions such as, what does the Bible really say about: a secret rapture of the church? A future one-world ruler? A future seven-year tribulation? Are we living in the last days?

The topic of the fivefold ministry - the apostle, prophet, teacher, pastor, and evangelist appointed by Christ to equip his church (Eph, 4:11) - was central to two movements in previous decades: the Shepherding Movement in the 1970s, and the New Apostolic Reformation in the 1990s and early 2000s. While both movements saw important elements of this ministry restored to the church, they also saw misunderstandings and abuses that prevented the fivefold from becoming more widely established in doctrine and practice.

Jesus and the Book of Acts are the standard of normal Christianity. Remember the fad a few years ago when people wore bracelets reminding them, "What Would Jesus Do?" Christians state that Jesus is the example of how to live, yet this has been limited in many cases to how we view our moral character.

Prophets have always been God's covenant lawyers. Under the Old Covenant, they came as God's lawyers to prosecute his case against his covenant partner, Israel. Now, in the New Covenant, they are still God's covenant lawyers, but the covenant has changed. Instead of pointing out guilt, sin, and condemnation, the New Covenant lawyer's job is to point to the New Covenant, to declare, "You are released from shame; you are forgiven; you are free!"

The mystery involves the gods. Who are they? What are they? And is it possible that these beings, whose origins are from ancient times, are the unseen catalysts of modern culture?

Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

Many Christians struggle to understand the Book of Revelation. “The end times.” “The apocalypse.” “The day of judgment.” These terms are both fascinating and frightening – but what do they really mean? Drawing from decades of study, Dr. Jeremiah explains every key sign of the approaching apocalypse and what it means for you, including international, cultural, heavenly, tribulation, and end signs. With his engaging writing style and clear analysis of how current world events were foretold in the Bible, The Book of Signs is an encouraging guide to the Book of Revelation.

Though most Christians refrain from predicting exactly when our world will end, many believe that when Earth's finale does arrive, it will be a catastrophe. Details vary, but the general assumption is the same: Things will get much, much worse before they get better. But is this really what the Bible teaches? Leaving aside the theological terms that often confuse and muddle this question, Douglas Wilson instead explains eschatology as the end of the greatest story in the world.

Revelation was written because God wants us to know what the future holds. For Christians, the prophetic truths within provide wisdom, reassurance, and discernment - while for unbelievers, Revelation is a plea to receive God’s grace while there is still time. Best-selling author Amir Tsarfati examines what Revelation makes known about the end times and beyond.
