Never Be Afraid to Speak to a Group Again

It’s been said that public speaking is the number one fear of most people, with death being second. “This means,” said comedian Jerry Seinfeld, “if you have to be at a funeral, you would rather be in the casket than doing the eulogy.”

How can you overcome fear or ineffectiveness as a speaker? Learn the Laws of Communication!

John C. Maxwell has been a public speaker and motivational teacher for more than fifty years. He is one of only eight people on the planet who have been awarded Toastmaster’s Golden Gavel and been inducted into the National Speakers' Association Hall of Fame. In The 16 Undeniable Laws of Communication: Apply Them and Make the Most of Your Message, he shares everything he’s learned from a lifetime of communication.

Incredible!!!

This book is full of rich wisdom and insights for becoming a powerful and effective communicator. John C. Maxwell is one of the greatest role models for effective communication (trust me, I study this space significantly!). He reads it with passion and purpose. And I literally love it so much I’m about to start listening again from the beginning. I highly recommend for anyone who truly wants to use their voice, life, and communication to make a positive impact in the world.

All 5 star reviews? Really?

When someone recommended this book to me, I thought, "Goody, ANOTHER book on communication. Can't wait." It was one of those, "just gotta get through it" reads for me...that is...until it wasn't.

I'm a decently talented communicator, and, even though I don’t do it all the time, I have heard bits and pieces of most of this material before. Despite this, John's presentation was so natural and real and authoritative and actionable that it left me looking forward to pulling out a future presentation to make significant overhauls to the material. What I'm seeing is that my focus is fuzzy, I'm trying to use someone else's voice, and I've not clearly defined the goal for the presentation. Woah. It all makes perfect sense and he's absolutely right. Time for revisions!

Beware! This is not just another "How to present" cookbook that you can breeze through in a weekend to say you've done it. It's actionable and helpful and just flat out too good to ignore. Now I have to go back and listen to the whole thing all over again and take notes. Dang it, John! There goes the weekend! :/

First time Maxwell listener.

I was looking to communicate better overall with people and through mentorship on leadership. My mentor turned me to this book. I am glad I did, I have wanted to continue to build my skills in communication, and now I have a structure of 16 to practice every day.

This audiobook was my first time listening to John Maxwell besides the Podcast on Maxwell Leadership.

Highly recommend it; I love this so much. I will buy the hardback to note and dive deeper into these 16 laws and put them into action.

Wonderful

This is the best book on communication I have ever read….well listened to. Some information was confirmation that I was doing the right thing and some information made me realize there is still much room for growth. I am grateful for John Maxwell and his teachings.
