Publisher's summary

My new boss is a CEO Billionaire who hired me to be a nanny for his son.

This should have been easy for me considering my experience with children. Except the man I'm working for is Thomas Ford. A man I never thought I would see again, especially not five years later.

Now, I live in his penthouse in the city.

I refuse to cross the line because one, he's my boss and two, I don't do relationships anymore.

It's hard to deny this man when his touch lights my body on fire. I told myself I wouldn't risk losing my job by giving into temptation but all it takes is one night in his kitchen and I am done for.

But who am I kidding? I was a goner that first night.

Contains mature themes.

Amazing!

Who doesn’t love a single dad romance?!? Those are my favorite!
Pey is really likable and relatable! Thomas is very work driven and a wonderful father! Pey and Thomas were electric together and I was at the edge of my seat like will they or won’t they?!? Hurry up haha I like that Pey took control in the relationship and that gave her a boost of confidence! Pey’s interactions with JJ were super cute! Both narrators did a fantastic job telling the story! I love how they were able to swiftly change their voice to match with the other characters

Super fun nanny/boss listen

Loved this book! They meet randomly one night and both feel that spark. Alarms literally go off and they have to leave the party. Years later she needs a job and he needs a nanny. The moment these two see one another it’s like AHHHHHHH! The second chance gods are on their favor.

I am a sucker for a single dad, so of course I grabbed this book! There were some heavy hitting moments dealing with losing a family member and it had me tearing up. It wasn’t the usual fluffy romcom, it had some moments that even my black heart ached.

Love this book and hope the rest come out in audio because YES PLEASE!!

This is why we read romance novels.

Thomas Frikken Ford, I am swooning and I am a puddle on the floor. Peyton and Thomas are the perfect couple, such absolute all consuming love. This book had me feeling everything I was kicking and screaming the whole time because this was so cute. Can we just have a second for the spice, bloody hell, Jenn you wrote the shit out of that spice. Furthermore I loved the found family in this book, Thomas‘s brothers, sister and best friend, as well as Peyton‘s best friends were absolutely magnificent. I cannot wait to read their stories next.

Fantastick Deubt Novel

The author's debut novel is truly exceptional! Jenn's captivating writing style keeps readers engaged from beginning to end, with Alex and Laurie's beautiful portrayal bringing the story to life. The book is packed with an engaging storyline, perfect doses of humor and poignant moments, and a romance that will make your heart skip a beat. You'll laugh, swoon, cheer, and cry, and more.

The story begins with Peyton and Thomas' magical first meeting, and their incredible chemistry will keep you hooked from the start. The well-developed characters like Gigi, Avery, Kali, Marc, and Logan enhance Peyton and Thomas' journey, making it a delightful read. The story strikes a perfect balance between humor and sadness, with just the right amount of spice, and without any unnecessary third-act breakups.

Spicy Romance

That first night by Jenn McMahon definitely made it on my list of romance favorites. This spicy romance is about Thomas Ford who is a billionaire single daddy and Peyton Kelly who is gorgeous but very shy and reserved. Their first initial meet at an event was instant attraction. During their attendance at the event they were forced to separate losing sight of one another with no knowledge of each other’s last names or any other details. Five years later they crossed paths again as Thomas was searching for a nanny and Peyton was searching for a nanny job, it was as if the chemistry never disappeared. Now Thomas and Peyton have to decide to keep things professional or let love take over.

I loved how much the value of friendship and family was shown throughout the story. Especially between Peyton and her Grandma and with Peyton and James. All the side characters were greatly written in, from both of their friends to their family, I felt connected with all the characters. The writing flowed very nicely in this book which made it enjoyable and easy to finish in one day. I can’t wait to pick up what else Jenn McMahon has written!

3.5⭐️ story — 4⭐️ narration

Audiobook review
Narrated By Alex Kydd and Laurie West
Listened on audible.
(Is also on hoopla)

Peyton and Thomas.
Love at first sight.
Unfortunately something major happens and this insta attraction is blown away.
5 years later, Peyton walks back into Thomas life again and he just so happens to have a little boy who needs a nanny.
Thomas’s little boy is a light in this story.
He’s sweet, lovable, cherished and emotional with his little heart. Peyton couldn’t have been a better person to show up in this little one’s life. And for Thomas, he may have needed that extra love too.

Let me say too, even if I rated it 3.5 it’s not bad, I did enjoy this story it was just a little long and parts seemed to drag. The beginning of this story got me hooked and I was feeling the angst of it all. I loved the idea of them not seeing each other again and fate bringing them back to each other. I think it was the middle part that dragged for me. Because then the ending got me hooked again with the little drama thrown in there. (Still no 3rd act break up which I love) also…. It was spicy! Alex Kydd knows how to narrate that spice too!
I’m excited to see where this series go, and I may re-listen when the rest comes on audio to keep connected to this family.

The narration was wonderful, I always enjoy these two narrators and thought they brought out the love, the loss, the joy and heartbreak, the moments of breaking walls to tell true feelings and every emotion was narrated to really give you that extra connection to these characters.

OH. EM. GEE

This book kept me wanting more and more. I wouldn’t wait to listen to it. Finished the 11.5 hour audiobook in 2 days. Driving, doing laundry, running errands, it was playing on my AirPods. So spicy! Definitely giving 50 shades vibes but in my opinion, BETTER! Great job Jenn!

Fantastic Debut Novel!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

👦 Single Dad/ Nanny

💲 Billionaire

🌠 Meant to be

🙅‍♀️ NO Third-Act Break-up!

1️⃣ Jenn McMahon’s Debut Novel!

Honestly I LOVED this! I listened to it in one day and could not get enough. Single Dad and Nanny are tropes that always get me but there was so much in this book to love. The FRIENDS references, the nods to other books, the female main character, Peyton, reading books. SO SO SO much to love! I definitely didn’t tear up at the ending (JK I TOTALLY TOTALLY DID!)

Super solid debut novel and no third-act breakup was absolutely GLORIOUS! Can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series!
