About this listen

Three best friends met every Tuesday for 26 years. And then they stopped.

From the author of the best-selling Sweeney Sisters series comes a novel of friendship, family, and hope.

When new next-door neighbors Georgia, Midge, and Lula first assembled on Georgia's porch in Charleston for sweet tea, they couldn't have known their gathering was the beginning of a treasured tradition. For 26 years they have met on Tuesdays at four o'clock, watching the seasons change and their children grow up, supporting each other in good times and in bad. With their ambitions as different as their personalities, these best friends anticipate many more years of tea time. And then, one Tuesday, Georgia shares news that brings their long-standing social hour to an abrupt halt. And that's only the beginning as unraveling secrets threaten to alter their friendship forever.

Amazing

This book is one of those stories that remind you what you hope you and your friends will be like when you’re all their age. A story full of love, support, and friendship. Real tear jerker too, so watch out

True Friendship

This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. I laughed and cried. I wanted to shake Lulu a few times but I fell in love with her and all the characters even Bennett. I liked how Heidi and Annie showed up as I also loved the Sweeney Sisters. The narrator did a phenomenal job of bringing the characters to life. Loved it all.

Sweet ass tea

I felt like the book was slow to start but it did give enough information to get to like the characters before it picked up its pace. I also found it it was wound up a little too quickly and some of the sentiment could’ve been carried on longer. I wasn’t ready for it to end basically. I really enjoyed it and I’m going to recommend it to my local book club for a summer read

I Loved Every Minute of this Story

This book made be laugh, cry, angry and even made me see myself in Lulu at times (scary). I loved how the 3 women had been friends for 26 years through thick and thin and were always there for each other. I greatly appreciated the fact I was able to listen to this story without a single foul word. No cussing, no sex, no mention of nudity, etc. Just a good old fashion story of 3 women who had been friends for 26 years. It doesn't get any better than that.

As for the narrator, Linda Henning, she leaves much to be desired. There was rarely ever any change between any of the character's voices. While listening it made me think of my 6th grade teacher who would read to us for 30 minutes every day after the noon recess. Although she did have more inflection in her voice than this narrator. While I thoroughly enjoyed every word of this story I have no doubt another narrator or even several narrators would greatly improve the reading performance of this story. I hope the audible in this story is redone with new narrators so you are able to distinguish between the 3 female friends, their husbands, boyfriend and Lulu's 2 daughters.

I look forward to listening to another story by Ashley Farley that hopefully is not narrated by Linda Henning.

Predictable

No surprises, made all the male partners look weak & nasty. Slow beginning. Needed to wrap up a couple of story lines.

Sweet southern women's fiction

Sweet southern women's fiction that features the bond between a group of women that has carried through the years. That bond was only recognized when the weekly social time stopped and the women realized just how much that sweet tea social time meant to them. A great read for a cabin getaway!
