About this listen

Emmy

My fall from grace was one for the books. All it took was his word against mine for everything to topple. Liar. Slut. Snitch.

Now, I wear my shame like a scarlet letter pinned to my chest. People say I ruined his life. Except he’s the one who irrevocably broke me - my heart, my body, my soul...my will to live.

Sterling

Like a little coward, she thinks the span of five states is enough to keep her safe. But I know where she is, and I’m going to make her pay. She ruined my best friend’s life. Now...I’m going to ruin her. One by one, I’ll spill her secrets, until she has nowhere left to turn - except to me, her very own big bad wolf.

Heartbreaking

This was a good college bully book, one with heartbreaking content. I was glad that the H came to see the error of his ways as early as he did, and tried to make up for it, because the re-victimization of the h, it was horrible to go through with her. On that point, I wish that more would have been done as far as atonement goes, with both the H, and all of her family, I felt like it was just kind of mentioned in passing, so we didn't actually get to see justice done as it should have been. I enjoyed the side characters and can't wait to get to their stories as well. The audiobook was also very well done.

Loved the characters!

Who doesn’t love a good redemption story? This book will make you feel everything the characters are going through as they grow and struggle to find their way through trauma, hate, and eventually love.

Good story, excellent performance!

My heart goes out to Emmy and I know that she has aspirations of helping others who have experienced the things she has and that is great! But I don't think she would ever be qualified to do it in a licenced manner; she's a hot mess (understandably so) and her PTSD is so off the charts there's no way I would be able to trust her to truly help someone. Maybe in time...? I don't think so, the damage is too deep - but I will champion her in saying she is a real survivor. There's always group therapy - she could take the lead? Or she could just travel and share her story - well now of days people don't need to travel just use social media.

Thanks to the sultry voice of Gregory Salinas and the vulnerable yet hopeful voice of Charlotte Claremont this book kept me interested enough to continue and finish

3 starz - I won't listen again

It was an ok book

So the narrators…. The female voice was good for the female parts but her male voice was just very robotic and kind of annoying.
The story, I was very sad and heartbroken for Emmy but also at times I wanted to yell at her for such a quick turnaround with Sterling. Sterling…. I did not like him, I mean Rob was his friend forever, he was already noticing that his screws were loose but he still chose to blindly follow him. At the party when Sterling gives her alcohol even though she specifically said she didn’t drink, and she just forgave him and then is all of a sudden ok with drinking, I think that was just wrong. And when Rob follows through with his “plan” and Sterling goes after him through his dad, there is no punishment except he is exiled!! He raped her, stalked her, recorded her w/o permission and distributed it to the campus but he is just made to leave. Like wtf. I almost didn’t finish this book just because I didn’t see Sterling as redeemable but I stuck it out because I can’t get my money back and I honestly wanted to know the catalyst for what happens in the prologue. Im curious about the other books but afraid I won’t like them

Amazing book

Emmy and Sterling were so good for each other. When I first read this book I wasn't sure I'd like it. Boy was I wrong!! My heart broke for Emmy and all her pain and I hated Sterling a bit at the start. He redeemed himself quickly though and lives with his whole heart. He's my favorite LK hero by far. This narration was spot on for their characters.
