4AM to finish
It’s 4am and I finally finished this book. Oh my God. So exciting! The formation of the United Nations Space Force happens at the end of this book. A group of aliens has deemed that all life forms must be eliminated from the universe. They start in this galaxy by sending a probe to earth and picking selected bad guys to rearrange their genes to amp up aggression and use the non coding stores of human DNA to create super powered violent criminals who are expected to disrupt the fabric of civilization and trick us into wiping ourselves out.
Imagine super powered ISIS groups suddenly dropped into New York to wreak havoc, criminal biker gangs with superpowers fighting the police and drug cartel bosses, super-powered terrorists dropped in on their enemies all of a sudden with the probe monitoring and manipulating everything?
Imagine the response of the USA, PLA, the Russians, and Israelis. We almost fall for it. Luckily there are some ethical super powered people who have a particular set of skills who can help. What a ride. The three books of the series are all available and I am waiting with baited breath for the rest. I hope there will be more. The story has not yet concluded. Whew!. So good and Tom Clancy-ish. So good with the gene modification science, old and new weaponry, a great insight into how science, private industry, military, aerospace, and alien motivation could be the end of us.
