About this listen

He had a lot to offer, but his terms were high. What would you do if you received the offer of a lifetime - marriage to a billionaire - with one catch: you had to make up your mind without ever seeing him?

When lowly bank teller Adair Weiss receives such an offer from reclusive philanthropist Fletcher Streiker, she is dumbfounded and disbelieving: Why me? What does he know about me? What does he want? Rejecting his offer would mean the end of her dream of dancing. But accepting it would change her life in ways she never guessed…

The Streiker Saga begins with Streiker's Bride, continues in Streiker: The Killdeer, and concludes in Streiker's Morning Sun. Fletcher Streiker makes his next appearance in His Strange Ways, the sequel to Padre.

A very hard book to put down

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! This is an excellent romance allegory of Christ's love for us.

What did you like best about this story?

Much like "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, which was targeted to kids and young adults. This book provides a more adult perspective on how Jesus romances us to Himself and protects us throughout our lives even when we don't sense His presence.

Have you listened to any of Robin Hardy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Can you trust him, even when you've never seen him?

Any additional comments?

This book begs to be a movie. It is well written, but a movie based on this book, could potentially be a blockbuster!

An old favorite now on audio book

Would you listen to Streiker's Bride again? Why?

Generally I don't care for author read audio books, but I truly enjoyed Robin's reading of her work. Not only did the soft Texas accent put me in mind of how she envisioned her characters speaking, but she was pleasant to listen to.

Robin's books are usually fairly quick reads, but I appreciated the fact that listening to this audio book slowed me down. I noticed things and made scriptural connections that I never had before, even after reading Streiker's Bride many, many times over the years.

What aspect of Robin Hardy’s performance would you have changed?

Well, I have loved it if she had acted out the voices, like some actors/readers do! But I thought she did a nice reading.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book has been a favorite of mine for years and it was delightful to get to experience it in a new and different way.
