About this listen

They thought they could get away with murder, but then Keeler showed up.

Ex-Special Forces operator Tom Keeler is a rambling man. He’s just passing through the town of Alencourt, France, and in less than an hour, someone tries to kill him. Nice place, nice try. But it’s a case of mistaken identity, and they picked the wrong guy. The French police can’t be trusted, except for the beautiful Cecile Nazari. She finds out fast that keeping up with Keeler is a dangerous occupation. Because someone’s preying on the weak and unprotected. Someone murderous. But they never counted on coming up against a guy like Keeler.

Took a bit to get into, but story ended up being great. French accent takes awhile to get used to.

At first I found the staccato sentence a little too bland and unemotional. But I got used to it and found it enjoyable by the end.

The character is almost a 100% carbon copy of Jack Reacher. So if you’ve enjoyed Lee Child’s character you’ll enjoy this. But we all know what this - a kind of wall paper. A few steps up from Mills & Boon (or maybe just a certain kind of men’s Mills & Boon??).

I’ve been in hospital and in pain during this listen/read and it’s been a perfect antidote and antidepressant.

Exactly what you’d expect. And that’s the fun

Narrator reminded me of Jerry Seinfeld. Every sentence the same inflection with the end going up. Story dragged and I lost interest and didn’t finish.

Bad narration

The story and the characters were old school Lee Child. The back half of the performance is worth the wait. However, the first part of the voice actor’s performance was horrible. The second book is worth the the listen as well.

Wait for it

Not a bad story. I liked the main character and the twists the author threw in.

Good read

If you like Jack Reacher, you will love this series. There are strange similarities, little nuggets, that will amuse a Jack Reacher fan. Overall, it was a great read, witty, gritty, with action in all the right places.

Excellent!

This is my kind of story, but the read was very hard to get through. Lady that I am dating could not take any more of it, stopping listening together. I forced myself to the end. But, good story.

Boring English Drawl of a Read

The narrator was so bad, I just couldn’t get I to the story. I removed the two books I had downloaded

Readers voice was monotonous. story was OK but to much like Lee Child and Jack Reacher

Reader's voice was not that good.

I like that it followed the Jack Reacher pattern, I disliked the over descriptions they were used to fill pages

Over and to much descriptions
