Love this book!

This book helped me to understand all of earliest peoples that existed, ancient historys of long-ago existed empires like Mesopotamia and kingdom of Egypt, babylonia and Assyria, ancient China, Africa, india, and more. I am thankful for this book to help me in my difficult()

Great starting place for young historians

I specifically came back to the ancient edition of these books to prepare for studying The Iliad and Odyssey.

What a great overview of ancient times across the globe. I’d forgotten that they didn’t just mention the connection to these peoples and their mythology, but shared some of those stories.

The audible version was very easy to listen to. I found this easier to stay engaged than reading the printed page, as if it had been written to be an oral tale.

A mesmerising journey through history

My kids and I listened to this on car journeys and we could not get enough of it. Instead of arguing in the car, they beg to listen to Story of the World. This is a win on all fronts

History

History is so incredible. I love that I can know a little bit from it. You get to understand things that you didn't know. And there's a little bit of geography too! But if you don't read this book then you may never know what happen in the past, so I insist you read this book.

We borrowed this series years ago and listed to the CDs. I check audible every so often and it's finally available here!! I downloaded vol 1 late last night and we fell asleep listening to the wonderful voice of Jim Weiss. When my daughter started taking public school history classes she was excited to tell her teachers that she recognized names of historical figures and some events. This is a WONDERFUL introduction to Ancient history for elementary aged kids. It's entertaining story telling and even enjoyable for the adults in the room or in the car, we're going to play this book for years to come!

Best overall history book for kids

This is an awesome host book! Incredible stories that all my kiddos were excited to listen too! My third grader down to my 1 year old! I enjoyed this stimulating book that peak out interest.

Overall, the narrator expressed the book into a unexpected way that makes readers fall into the book in no time.
I also deeply felt that by making children read this history, they will already learn the world's history in a easy way.

This narrator is insufferable

I wish there was another version with a less monotonous narrator. He’s too easy to tune out, especially for children.
