About this listen

Stori Telling is a chance for Tori to set the record straight on her personal life and to let listeners experience the truly unique life she's led - with its undeniable childhood privileges, tabloid misperceptions, career successes, and personal regrets. This is Tori's opportunity to define herself on her own terms.

Whereas her VH1 show So Notorious was brilliant, self-effacing satire, her memoir directly showcases the tabloid lies and scrutiny, her family and childhood (including a tour through the infamous Spelling mansion), her marriages, her scandalous divorce, her experiences as a new mom, and the empowering humor that stems from a private life made public caricature.

Few actresses have a personal story that's more unique and full of twists and drama than their roles. Tori's bestselling tell-all memoir is a juicy, eye-opening volume every bit as enthralling and addictive as one of her father's smash series.

Fantastic!

I wasn't necessarily a fan of Tori Spelling before I read this, but was hoping on some 90210 secrets being spilled so I picked it up.

Boy was I surprised!! I absolutely loved this book... I have now become a true fan of Tori Spelling. I think she is very misunderstood and extremely funny! It's great to hear her own voice reading. I'm on to MOMMYWOOD now. I can't wait!

Behind the tabloid covers

I never watched 90210, I started following Tori after seeing her reality show on Oxygen. I was pregnant the first time I saw the show and I really connected with how down to earth Tori and Dean were. They really are just regular people. Stori Telling gives an inside look into Tori's life. She shares a problem that a lot of daughters have, which is a mother's jelousy of a father's love for his daughter. Many people know the saying "Daddy's little girl", but it takes a very insecure woman to be jelous of your own child. However, Tori's struggle to be "normal" and her quest for her mother's love and approval is what made her into the strong, independent woman she is today. The inside look into her life was wonderful. The fact that Tori read the book herself was even better because you could feel every emotion she was feeling as she spoke. She was completely honest and real, even about things she wasn't proud of. If I wasn't already such a big fan, this book would complete the Tori Spelling fan club membership.

Nice to hear her story

It was nice to hear her story instead of the press over the theater that wasn’t the truth

Enjoyed it!

I can relate to her being a mom even though I was not born with all the luxuries that Tori was, okay any luxuries lol. She is still human and relatable. I enjoyed it! Thanks!

The truth is all that matters

I am not a big fan of celebrity "Hollywood" authors. For some reason I was curious about her story. Once I started listening on my iPod I simply couldn't wait for what she was going to say next. The clarity and truth from her perspective was easily relatable for me. We share some common experiences so I worked hard not to judge and simply listen. I laughed hard, felt genuine sadness, and exhillerating joy throughout the book. I also found myself disappointed. Not at the writing, but some of the content-that's my own issue. Overall, it was better than I could have hoped for and well worth the 5 straight hours I spent through listening to it. I appreciate Tori telling her story her way. I think I take a listen at her next book as well.
