About this listen

A Warhammer 40,000 Audio

Follow in the footsteps of Hadeya Etsul as she is consolidated into a Cadian armoured regiment and put in command of a Leman Russ Demolisher, Steel Tread. Can she win the trust of her dysfunctional crew and pilot the tank to victory on a do-or-die campaign?

Listen to it because: against the backdrop of an increasingly desperate conflict, tanker Hadeya Etsul finds herself consolidated into a Cadian regiment and placed in command of the Leman Russ Demolisher Steel Tread, where she must try to rally a dysfunctional crew together in order to survive a death-or-glory offensive.

The story: on the war-torn world of Croatoas, the armies of the Astra Militarum do battle with the twisted servants of the Ruinous Powers. Against the backdrop of this increasingly desperate conflict, tanker Hadeya Etsul finds herself consolidated into a Cadian regiment and placed in command of the Leman Russ Demolisher Steel Tread. Haunted by nightmares, surrounded by a dysfunctional crew and striving to find her place amidst a proud and insular regiment with a culture so different from her own, Etsul must guide her crew to victory. But as her regiment rolls out beneath the poisonous light of the Great Rift to join a death-or-glory offensive, the crew of Steel Tread are about to face the fight of their lives. If they cannot learn to work as one, how can they hope to survive?

Written by Andy Clark. Running time nine hours 51 minutes. Narrated by Remmie Milner.

Makes me wanna build a tank

Such a legit book for the Astra Militarum, specifically showcasing the trials at the heart of a tank, a point of view too often shrouded.

A very good IG book

Very enjoyable tank story. The characters were interesting and none of them acted in any way you wouldn't expect people like them to.

Welp I’m buying a tank.

Well written, well voiced and well paced. Need more books about vehicles and their crews. Double eagle next!

A Demolisher and a Chaos Knight Walk into a bar

I love any time the armor of the Astra Militarum is highlighted. A big plus to this story, imo, was how they represented the forces of Chaos. From Cultists to Traitor Guard and Chaos Knights! I definitely recommend this as a must for any Imperial Guard fans.

Worth a listen

Great performance and entertaining story throughout. A bit corny at times but it’s an Imperium novel so thats to be expected. Radio effects are cool.

Enjoyable listen

Got a little bored by the end, its certainly a book about fighting. But i got attached to the characters and their dynamics, was invested in their aftermath at least.

Fury in Space

Extremely fun IG novel. Feels like a good old WWII war movie about tankers, just in space. Gritty, boots on the ground, and the characters are likeable. Narrator was great but it took me awhile to hear the differences between characters and put names to them. Final battle is a little eh but the ending is satisfying.
