About this listen

A Regency Cinderella fights back!

Unfairly blamed for her mother’s sins, Lady Deborah Martin can’t please her father and offends the handsome Lord Foxborough. Treated as little more than a servant, this spirited young woman, gifted with a lovely singing voice, plans a life on the stage, and if that stirs trouble, the men had best watch out!

“Clear and crisp … Elevated above the ordinary by the inclusion of some delightful dialogue and some very funny scenes.”--Library Journal

USA Today bestselling author Jacqueline Diamond is known for her cozy mysteries, romantic comedies, medical romances and Regency romances—more than a hundred titles. A former Associated Press reporter, Jacqueline received a Romantic Times Career Achievement Award.

Clean book

The virtual narration was surprisingly better than many known human narrators. Not bad at all. Human nature is indeed sinful.

Clean, well-written, but story uncomfortable.

Book okay, but not a pleasant read for me. Far too many villians, as well as too many physical and emotional threats to the heroine, from relatives, strangers, and evem the hero. I didn't find the hero's physical and emotional bullying to be either romantic or "heroic", Much of the activity within the book made me feel tense and uncomfortable.
