About this listen

Contains books one and two of Solar King: Uniting the Twelve Zodiacs.

Taurus, book one

At the age of 18, Bo Wingman was full of hope, eager to soar in the sky as a member of the United States Air Force. But when he was involved in a terrible accident that cost his two best friends their lives, everyone in town blamed him for it - and it was hard not to believe them. All that was left to do was leave town, change his identity, and start a quiet, tortured life working in an underground mine.

One day at work, he is approached by a captivating scientist who knows about his past - and knows far more uncanny things than that. She coerces him into coming with her to a secret lab. She believes that an intergalactic civilization visited earth in eons past and left behind a powerful artifact that’s key to bridging the stars. She also believes that Bo is not an ordinary, nameless mine worker. She believes he is the solar king.

The only problem is, for as bright as Bo's power burns, the darkness of space is endless. It contains horrors that could destroy planet Earth entirely or doom it to an even darker fate.

Leo, book two

Together with his Zodiacs, the Solar King has defeated Chimera, the giant alien horror that would have destroyed the city of Lagos, and possibly far more. He’s begun exploring the unique Kosmic relationship that he has with the warrior goddesses known as Zodiacs, and he has learned that there are 10 more somewhere in the galaxy, waiting for him to find them.

Bo travels to another dimension called Aether, where he learns how to upgrade his Colossus, how to raise its stats, and even how to combine with his Zodiacs’ colossi. But he must hurry, as a Kosmic threat is looming, and he still does not realize that something from his past is about to throw off his entire plan of saving the galaxy.

Warning: Solar King features city-crushing battles, mystical unions through physical passion, harem relationships, and a monarch coming into his own power. For adults only.

Performance was solid

I enjoyed the performance but the story was atrocious. The story doesn’t make any sense and the main character is such a ridiculously oblivious jerk that he became the worst part of story.
I originally got this story because I enjoyed the performances of these narrators in other books. They didn’t disappoint but the author sure did.

So good and yet so bad

Great concept and the writing is decent enough but at times it’s incredibly frustrating. Right off the bat the author confuses ravishing with ravaging at least twice. This is totally anime and if you like that “hero constantly loses until he discovers the power within himself” type of frustration (IMO) or at least don’t mind it then check this out. I will definitely check out future books to see if the story gets better (and the author) and hopefully there will be less cheesy dialogue (and learns to use anatomical names).
Narrators helped me make it to the end. I honestly don’t know how they did it with some of the things the idiot MC says. So awful unless you like that in anime, then it could appeal to you.

Yes this has a Power Rangers like battle system...

The book is enjoyable and the harem situation isn't drowning you with sex. Everything fits in the sci-Fi fantasy. going books 3 & 4 publisher packs are worth the wait.

Not bad But....

The narrators do a good job with what they are given. the sad truth is the sometime juvenile material that make the MC sound like a bad Saturday morning cartoon character. seriously this could be a good series. Loose the cringe worthy dialogue that pops up way too often and the whole calling out your moves trope. Those are the two things dragging this down. Hoping these are fixed in future books as I will check out the next in the series but if it still falls into the same as these first two... well then that is where this series will end for me. Jessica and Christopher keep up your awesome narration I look forward to more from you guys.

Great concept, but.....

I really tried to like this, but I think I got caught by the cover art. The narrators did a excellent job, I believe the author has a sound concept, but I had a hard time with the second book and the traps. Not going into detail due to giving the story away. It’s a fast paced book, maybe too fast.
I keep thinking The Hero with a thousand faces and would recommend the author read it.
Great ideas just to much too fast.

to much combat not enough story

it feels like power rangers with the same depth. could be a great story but I wound up skipping most of book 2 cause its all combat except for about 30 minutes everything else is fighting. I need character development story progression. the twist was actually good in book 2 but its constant fighting. I need more than action

Editing... and awesome story

So the editing is a little lacking but the story line is very good. I’m looking forward to more.

Set the book down early.

This book sounded cool but I could not make it past an hour. MC is blackmailed and coerced into following a stranger who is threatening to ruin his life and any time he looks at her all he can think is how beautiful she is. I also feel its kind of odd that she starts talking about aliens and he is just like "okay cool" without even a hint of skepticism.

I actually think this might still be a cool book and if I do continue it another time I will edit my review but for now the book will remain slightly disappointing.
