Terrific for teens!

This book delivers exactly what it says. I really like the tips and tricks for setting boundaries and how to manage bullies and fake friends. I bought this for my niece who will be starting high school next year. Her mother read it after she finished and was so thankful. This is a great gift and will help any teen start on the right track or will help them if they had a hard time last year. I wish I’d had this book when I was in high school! No doubt, get it now!

What a great resource!

My son will be preparing for high school in the next year and this was such an informative listen. So much has changed since I was just entering high school and I found this to be very current and educational. I vividly remember the social anxiety I felt moving up to high school and having a tool like this in my tool belt would have made things much easier. If you have a child or family member that’s about to enter high school or maybe is struggling with social skills while in high school, this is a great resource.

Boost your confidence

The three key highlights that really stood out to me were: The importance of listening skills, how to handle conflict with confidence, and the power of positive self-talk. They all were really helpful and M. A. Gallant provided some fantastic tips and advice that were incredibly useful and actionable. Gallant’s tips on changing negative self-talk to positive self-talk were incredibly helpful, and I'm already seeing a boost in my confidence.

The main takeaway from this audiobook is that developing social skills, like assertive communication and positive self-talk, is crucial for surviving high school. These skills can not only help you navigate conflict, but also build positive relationships with your peers and teachers.

I also have to add that the narrator was such a pleasure to listen to. Their voice was clear and engaging, and they made the listening experience all the more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone looking to improve their social skills and feel more confident in high school and beyond.

Great Listen!

This audiobook was a great tool to help teens understand the basics of assertiveness, communication, and taking charge of your life. It explaines how to be in control, assertive, empowered, and respected through the notion of self-reflection and understanding your own set of values. Also, basic communication tips and principles are suggested like how to appropriately make eye contact and how to permeate powerful body language. In addition, the author gives permission to teens to set their own rules: the right to say no and change their mind without feeling guilt, to prioritize their life), and to remain steadfast in expressing their feelings and opinions, even in the face of disagreement without having to fight. Overall, this audiobook is highly recommended as a versatile tool be able to be more assertive and take charge of one’s own life.

Amazing resource for teenagers

Amazing resource for teenagers (and a nice refresher for adults!). Through relatable anecdotes, real-life examples, and interactive exercises, the author ensures that the concepts discussed are not only understood but also readily applicable to the readers' daily lives. This hands-on approach encourages teenagers to actively engage with the material, fostering personal growth and development.

I thought the narrator did a nice job of delivering the book’s message, pausing during the book’s exercises to allow those listening to really take the time to consider and answer the book’s questions and activities.

With its comprehensive approach and relatable writing style, this book undoubtedly deserves a place in every teenager's bookshelf (or audio library).

A SUPERB ROAD MAP!

How I wish I’d had this wonderful book by M.A. Gallant back when I was a high schooler! I think everyone can relate to the uncertainties most experience as young adults, all fanned by the flames of the hormonal storms each of us must navigate.
The advice on bullies and phony friends is worth the price of admission. I would have given anything for these valuable tips and strategies at the time.
I particularly liked the tips on effective communication and creating healthy boundaries. These are areas where one’s nascent self-confidence often brings about uncertain results. “Social Skills Teens Need to Survive High School” helps you to lock-in effective communication skills, while delivering on all the other promises made by the author.
I learned so much that applies with relevance to my life today, so don’t think this is just a “book for kids.”
The narration by D Henry Hanson is clear and engaging, ,making this book a pleasure to listen to.
If you have kids or grandkids about to embark on their high school years, this book would make a loving and insightful gift that offers them a superb road map through what for most, is a challenging time.
Highly recommended
