About this listen
Do you love an alcoholic? You are not alone! There’s healthy love, and then there’s painful love. If you are in a relationship with someone with a drinking problem, then you probably find yourself suffering right alongside them...watching, begging, pleading, caring, crying, and helping - yet, to no avail. The fact is, we lose ourselves trying to save them.
This book contains 25 must-learn lessons for someone wanting solutions, happiness, and a better, alcohol-free life. Spare yourself more pain and problems by learning all you can from someone who has gone through it. Each chapter is a guide to help you find your own truth.
As you listen to So, You Love an Alcoholic?, you will feel validated and relieved. Take comfort in learning that you are not the cause of the alcoholic’s problem; you can’t control it, and you certainly can’t cure it. However, there is hope for the hopeless. While you can’t fix or cure another person, you can mend your broken heart and repair the trust in yourself. You can commit yourself to your own happiness and let go of the love that was lost. You can learn to focus on the most important relationship - the relationship with your authentic and beautiful self.
Journey with Grace through her hard-learned lessons as she shifted her focus away from the alcoholic relationship and toward her own recovery. Grace teaches us that you must learn to take care of yourself before taking care of others. Learn that the ultimate solution for this problem is self-love through gaining self-respect. Follow her, step-by-step, into your own personal transformation by gaining valuable wisdom through her experience, strength, discovery, and hope.
Grace will guide you towards finding a happily-ever-after with yourself! Get the clarity you need to break free of the chains of codependency - and step into a life of sanity and serenity. Knowledge is power, and freedom is the gift we give ourselves!

We've been told that staying with a partner who struggles with addiction—whether it be with drugs, alcohol, or addictive behaviors—means that we're enabling their destructive behavior. That wanting to help them means we're codependent, and that the best thing for both of us is to walk away from the relationship entirely. But is that true?

A typical prayer goes something like this: "Please help us find the money to pay our mortgage this month." Saying the prayer may help you feel like the burden of that month's mortgage has been lifted, but the part of you that feeds on fear will simply seek out new financial worries to keep you awake at night. Old patterns remain intact.
In contrast, asking, "Please heal my fear-based thoughts about our mortgage" lifts the burden and relieves the need to re-create that fear and hold onto it.

Story
Today - as repeated attempts to “fix ourselves and our lives” fail - many of us face unprecedented fears about the future, struggle with unspeakable life tragedies, and sink under the belief that certain lives do not matter in our society. Others confront our epidemic of anxiety with fierce resistance, or “the fight to be right”, criticizing anyone and everyone just to end up stuck. In the face of such pervasive human suffering, New York Times best-selling author and legendary life coach Iyanla Vanzant challenges us: What if it’s not them - what if it’s you?

The need for change as we get older - an emotional pressure for one phase of our lives to transition into another - is a human phenomenon, neither male nor female. There simply comes a time in our lives - not fundamentally different from the way puberty separates childhood from adulthood - when it's time for one part of ourselves to die and for something new to be born.

Story
When you really care about someone, it’s easy to get stuck in painful, even destructive patterns - caving in to a spouse’s manipulation, ignoring a live-at-home son’s irresponsibility, not confronting a friend’s addiction. We excuse people again and again, and then kick ourselves for not setting better boundaries. But this important audiobook, with its transformational tools from leading Christian counselor Tim Clinton and noted author Pat Springle, will guide you in not only breaking through to better relationships but making big changes for the better.

Hope for the Hopeless
She led us through her story of every challenge and victories through what feels like something almost impossible. Freedom from the alcoholism. Codependency is definitely a sickness too and this is a wonderful resource if you are serious about working on your recovery and healing while allowing your alcoholic work on themselves or not. Life goes on and happiness is possible. Thank you.
