Publisher's summary

Some secrets won’t leave you alone. Others can get you killed.

After her father's death, Snow shuts herself away in her grief cluttered chambers, but she is plagued by more than painful memories. She will never be safe unless she forgets how her father really died. At last, she escapes into the woods with nothing but a small knife.

Rose leaves the sleeping village she grew up in for the first time in search of her missing grandmother. Alone in the woods at night, she finds ghosts, a rabid wolf, her grandmother's mangled corpse, and Snow.

Snow and Rose thrive together in the wood, but hiding will not keep them safe forever. It will take something stronger than walls to conquer the dangers that haunt them.

Fantastic story with characters you really care about.

Being a fan of Grimm’s fairytales, I really enjoyed the clever changes to classic characters while still staying true to their hearts. Snow and Rose quickly become characters you get invested in, and I found myself not wanting the story’s conflict to threaten their lives. I wholly recommend this book to any fan of the darker Grimm’s stories or even the Disney portrayals of Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood. You’ll fall in love with the characters and despise the villains.

I’m immediately getting the next book, because I don’t want it to end.

Beautiful

This book was very well written. I feel like this is mixed tales of Snow White and Red Riding Hood. The voice of the narrator, Michelle Lee, made it so beautiful and serene. The beginning of the book was a bit slow but the story started to pick up the speed from mid to end. I was happy with the ending and wished there was more.

Mixture of Tales

Michelle Lee has one of the most beautiful soft voices that I have ever heard and she did a stellar job as the narrator. I was not to keen on the story it put me in mind of the movie "Snow White and the Huntsman" in some ways. The last chapters were a little disappointing and could have been better. The plot started off very well with twist and turns of each story as they melded into one and then it started to falter into nothingness. I am voluntarily leaving my honest unbiased review of this book.
