About this listen

A lone survivor embarks on a post-apocalyptic quest for revenge in the seventh installment of this gritty zombie-thriller series.

Killing the sadistic warlord known as the Dog Tongue took everything Gus Berry had, including the woman he loved. Now, all he wants is to get away from the bloody scene of their final showdown. But when he heads west in a stolen truck, a brutal snowstorm forces him to turn back—and seek refuge in the Dog Tongue’s former headquarters.

Though it’s littered with human carnage, the abandoned luxury hotel has a lot to offer a guy like Gus. But in addition to soft beds and working toilets, he encounters still-lurking dangers both living and undead. Determined to destroy the Dog Tongue’s followers once and for all, he resolves to follow their ominous trail wherever it may lead . . .

Combining dystopian suspense and zombie-killing action with complex characters and dark humor, Skull Road is the seventh book in Keith C. Blackmore’s thrilling Mountain Man series—perfect for fans of HBO’s The Last of Us

What an awesome way to finish an excellent series!

I have been reading and then listening to this series since Mountain Man book 1 first came out. With every book I have loved how the characters grow on you and been looking forward to each book as they came out, hoping for another and another so that it would finish in a way that would do so properly, Skull Road did that and put a contented smile on my face. As usual, the writing is spot on and the narration by R.C. Bray brings all of the characters their uniqueness and depth which makes this series that much more awesome. Thank you all for this fabulous series.

I missed Gus and his ball scratches

It’s not my favorite book in the series, but it’s Gus so I still loved it!

Great ending

Gus had been through a lot and I really enjoyed the ending. Also the full circle in the last chapter.

Once again a “10.”

Nothing to say but another perfect story and narration. What a team. Don’t change a thing.

Solid

Another solid sequel and perfect execution by the auditory god RC Bray. My only complaint would be the quick wrapping up of the end of the book. I would of enjoyed a bit more story.

Man Descending into Madness Saves Canada

I feel like there was a theme pertaining to “becoming that which you hate by hating it to the point of self-corruption, realizing the corruption, and fighting to return to the good” that wasn’t totally as explored as it could have been. Maybe that particular theme made things too dark if taken further? Regardless, the story is excellent if a little slow to get going. The prose is beautiful and R.C. Bray’s narration is as smooth as soft butter on fresh toast.

Mr. Blackmore has done a wonderful job with this series, and if this is the grand finale, a grand finale it is! Thanks to the author for giving us Gus. It’s been one helluva hero’s journey.

OMG I love it so much

Every time I read a new Mountain Man book I worry that I'm not going to enjoy it as much as the last one. I was so wrong I loved it. These are the best dystopian novels out there.

Excellent!

Really well done all the way through. As usual,..it wouldn’t be what it is without RC Bray. I totally recommend this series.
