Acerca de esta escucha

A lone survivor embarks on a post-apocalyptic quest for revenge in the seventh installment of this gritty zombie-thriller series.

Killing the sadistic warlord known as the Dog Tongue took everything Gus Berry had, including the woman he loved. Now, all he wants is to get away from the bloody scene of their final showdown. But when he heads west in a stolen truck, a brutal snowstorm forces him to turn back—and seek refuge in the Dog Tongue’s former headquarters.

Though it’s littered with human carnage, the abandoned luxury hotel has a lot to offer a guy like Gus. But in addition to soft beds and working toilets, he encounters still-lurking dangers both living and undead. Determined to destroy the Dog Tongue’s followers once and for all, he resolves to follow their ominous trail wherever it may lead . . .

Combining dystopian suspense and zombie-killing action with complex characters and dark humor, Skull Road is the seventh book in Keith C. Blackmore’s thrilling Mountain Man series—perfect for fans of HBO’s The Last of Us

You think you want a piece of Augustus Berry? Think twice, you’ll get a handful of Ramfist and a backhand from Uncle Jack.

Wraps everything up perfectly

Perseverance and (very) dark humor follows Gus through the sh*tstorm that takes place in the most recent mountain man installment. Basic morality battles survival instinct.

Good guy Gus

Love the series and writing of the author. Gus is relatable and brings on the emotions and laughs throughout the series.

This one came full circle. All the books have been great. I do miss the captain but understand why. I always wanted more but I do believe I will be happy with it ending. Unless…..

I always wanted more…..

Another great book! There were a couple times towards the end where I got choked up knowing this is probably the last book in the series. However, it was the perfect ending for Gus. I don’t want to say too much and give anything away, but, while I’m sad that this may be the last book in the series, I am happy with the conclusion. And, of course, R.C. Bray was magnificent in his performance (as always).

Loved it!

Fantastic listen. Keith Blackmore is a skilled story teller that keeps you locked in with his flowing prose. Add RC Bray to the mix and you are enthralled in a world of intrigue and gripping terror. If you are a Gus fan you will not be disappointed.

Thank you Keith, this has been a wonderful ride. I can honestly say that of the many series I've read, Mountain Man has been my favorite, and it will always hold a dear place in my heart. I look forward to hearing more of Gus, but I would love to see how Collie and Wallace make their world their own. It's rare that a series as long as yours (Seven books, what?!) makes it this far and still maintains the exceptional writing and attention to detail that yours has, Thank you for all you have given us.

I want to also thank RC Bray for his amazing work narrating this series. You, at least for me, will ALWAYS be the voice of Gus. I sincerely hope that if any series ever has the chance to be made into a series, whether animated, movie or show, it's this series. I'd hope if it's animated, we get YOU RC Bray to voice Gus. You helped bring his character off the written page and into my mind like no one else could.

Keith, I'm sure there were points you could have stopped and ended Gus's journey but you've truly given Gus and your readers something special. I look forward to adding the rest of this series to my book collection and will never stop at the chance to praise your work and suggest people pick up the series. Thank you again on behalf of Gus, your many readers, and all of the many, Many characters we were given the chance to meet, love, hate, and root for along the way. I've listened to and read all of your work to date and have enjoyed it all. I look forward to and will eagerly await what you publish next, mountain man or no.
Thank You.
Ps. I don't get emotional much, but darn it, you made me tear up there at the end! I could never say it enough, but one more time, thank you and remember folks, crap wrap is the most important resource in the Apocalypse! Red Rye!

the ending our mountain man deserved

Not many series hold up this far into the book numbers. Skull Road is not only a good entry, it's a bit better. Not different, just better. If you enjoyed any of its predecessors, this will serve you well--even if a few more recents felt off.

Bray is Bray, always a pro and a gifted one at that.

Fun Story, Good Acting

Hands down one of my favorite books which is amazing since I’m not into zombie books. RC brays voice is like sweet molasses

Wasn’t a Zombie guy

While I didn't find it as good as the other books in the series that by no means implies that this is not a very good read because it is a great story. only problem I kept running into was that I seemed to be able to know what was going to happen well before it happened and most of the guess work was just not there for me. was an enjoyable story and Gus was in true fashion. narration was top notch as usual. Mr. Blackmore seems to really have a great ability to match an excellent narrator with the stories told.

Another good adventure with Gus.
