About this listen

Kobie J. Newton's new short story, "Sin of Wrath", is the action-packed follow up to his first novel, The Order of Saint Michael.

An unsuspecting window shopper is violently thrown through a department store window in downtown Chicago. Her attacker, Adalia Moore, seeks vengeance and information on a missing warrior. A news reporter and his camera man accidentally capture the incident and soon find themselves witnessing a supernatural war.

Adalia Moore is no longer the upbeat and positive teenager she once was. She's become moody, rash, and increasingly aggressive over the past few weeks since joining God's Army. Adalia's inability to defeat her adversary is fueling her frustration and anger. If left unchecked, she may discover she isn't that different from her adversary.

The Archangel Michael has long sought God's permission to rescue his missing brothers from the Fallen's domain. Since Lucifer's failed coup, known as "The Great Fall", God has forbade his forces from entering Hell for any reason. Now permission is granted, and Michael intends to find the missing archangels at any cost.

Unique Characters, Gripping Story, Excellent A*

If you could sum up Sin of Wrath in three words, what would they be?

Unique, Creative, Entertaining

What did you like best about this story?

The overall series isn't something I've encountered before which I really enjoy! There is so much of the same out there it's nice to come across something totally new, to me at least.
While this is just the second instalment of an overall story I am hooked and will be eagerly be waiting for further additions.

I loved how each character has their own story and they're all a part of a large goal which they all fight for, even though they all come from different walks of life. Adalia is just excellent, there’s no two ways about it, she’s fierce, totally kick ass. Her character development just makes me more interesting. I look forward to seeing how she progresses.

Any additional comments?

I like how the author has taken her faith and brought it into the 21st Century. The whole idea is creative, and is sure to appeal to a wide audience.

What a Great Book and a Delightfully Done Audio

Where does Sin of Wrath rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Sin of Wrath is part two of a larger story and the author has done a fantastic job of sweeping you right back up into this amazing journey of God’s Army and Adalia Moore’s transformation from an upbeat, fun-loving gamer to a mighty warrior out to save her friends. All the characters have a fresh voice and I love the way the author is able to keep them real, and sounding like teens and young adults that are on a mission and a path of learning and discovery. Adalia does a lot of growing and you really start to see how she must overcome and be better than Amanda if she is to win this battle.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sin of Wrath?

You get swept up with Archangel Michael and how clever his story is here. The commanding voice and presence the author has created with him really adds to the intensity and the uncertainty. There are plenty of great battle scenes with some mighty swords and great armor, all in the middle of our modern day lives of cell phones, video cameras, and downtown cities and lives.

Any additional comments?

Loved every second of this book and can't wait for more.

Loved the story and the message

What did you love best about Sin of Wrath?

I love the use of biblical imagery and stories in a novel, a learning in so many levels.

What other book might you compare Sin of Wrath to and why?

This is a difficult one, I haven't seen the bible taken into the modern world as effectively and many I have seen take place after the fall and not before.

What about Asunique Wilson’s performance did you like?

The strong use of voice, the ability to change the voice for the character and able to drive the story with the pace of her voice

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The beginning, it takes you straight into the story with the fight as Adalia takes the fight into the public.
