Acerca de esta escucha

What if the Trinity we've been taught is not the Trinity of the Bible? In this groundbreaking book, Matthew Barrett reveals a shocking discovery: We have manipulated the Trinity, recreating the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in our own image. We have distorted the biblical, orthodox Trinity to justify our countless social agendas.

With clarity, creativity, and conviction Barrett mines the scriptures as well as the creeds and confessions of the faith to help you rediscover the beauty and simplicity of our Triune God. Barrett introduces you to "The Dream Team", the best of the church fathers, who teach us how to interpret the Bible in a way that avoids past and present trinitarian heresies. You will also be surprised to learn that what you believe about the Trinity has untold consequences for salvation and the Christian life. To truly know God, you must meet the One who is simply Trinity.

I am thankful that God sovereignly led me to this much needed book in order to correct and reform my understanding of the Trinity. All Christians need to seriously read this book. Christian teachers must read it with humility.

I greatly appreciated Barrett’s rootedness in a historical and biblical communication of the trinity in a passionate and informative manner.

Helpful, clear, informative

Is the Son eternally generated the Spirit eternally spirated and the Father eternally be getting? In a word yes. Well written and clear on the points made. Will be looking into authors other works.

Is the Trinity Simplistic?

Amazing book that shows how the early church understood the Trinity so much better than today's theologians.

Back to the the church fathers

Wow! A challange to the reformed community in right thinking about the Trinity. Using the nicene council Trinity and early Christian Father’s the authors bring a challange to modern ways of thinking and preaching about the nature of the Trinity. Although very good, unless you have a firm grip on doctrine, church history, and trinitarian schools of thought, you may want to start with a more basic book and work up to this one. However, if you do have a good understanding of those things, I think you’ll love this book.

The Trinity is complex and a mystery. This is often where we stop trying to understand the single will of the One True God who exists in three distinct persons. But what if we set aside excuses not to understand and saw God as simple? This orthodox and true to the historic faith of the Church book shows us the complex and beautiful way God is simple - not simplistic - and present fully in the appropriations of Father (Source) and the eternally begotten Son and the proceeding Spirit. Read this and better understand the God who is love, over against the heresies that seek to divide God or modalize the persons of the Trinity.

The Father is not an angry authoritarian over a submissive Son and ancillary Spirit, nor is the Son a great teacher to reveal the Father, nor is the Son or Spirit a means to unlocking your best you from the Father.

You are beloved and to be a Christian is to know our belovedness through the distinctness of this doctrine.

A must read for all Christians

The first half of the book is somewhat repetitive. I did get a broader insight into the implications of the trinity and what it means with our relationship with God. In the end it is and will be a mystery until God reveals all.

Great book but somewhat repetitive.

great book. I don't think I agree with everything but it's the first trinitarian book that I've read that is actually orthodox.

if your looking for a book that explains the trinity without making the mistake of turning into TRITHEIST then this is the book for you.

the main point is that God is simply 1 and yet in a METAPHYSICAL sense he is 3. I personally find truly trying to understand just how this all works as a fools errand, but this author did a great job in making God 1 and staying within orthodox.

if you think God is 3 persons with 3 seperate wills or 3 persons within SOCIETY with each other then this book might just save you.l from your tritheism.

Divine simplicity is finally a focal point!

i recommend this book especially for those whom the author identifies as students assigned the typical Grudem et al/social-understanding text-books by bible college and sem profs over the past 20-50 years.
You might also be a victim of "Trinitarian drift" and need to go "back to the DeLorean".

Do you understand "The Trinity"?
