About this listen
Geez, make a splash in the world of art forgery at the age of 17 and people can't stop bringing it up. Lesson learned: genuine art is priceless, and forgery gets you arrested. Now Annie puts her artistic talents to honest use as a faux finisher in San Francisco. But carving out a new reputation can be a creative challenge....
Modernism isn't Annie's thing, but even she is surprised to discover that the "sculpture" in a prestigious gallery's grisly new exhibition is an all-too-real corpse - the artist's.
Meanwhile, a Chagall painting is stolen from the Brock Museum, and Annie's old friend Bryan is accused of being in on the fix. To track down the missing Chagall, she'll need the dubious assistance of a certain sexy art thief. And if Michael - or whatever his real name may be - isn't distraction enough, Annie's mother shows up in town, acting strangely. Annie's got to solve these mysteries, and fast - because art is long, but life can be very, very short.

My Stomach Hurts From Laughing!!
This either needs to be in movie or TV form. Juliet Blackwell’s skill at humorous yet edge of the seat action scenes are beyond compare. Xe Xands is so good. Kinda wish she had a better voice variety because I occasionally get all the women characters mixed up. I’m better at distinguishing after the second book.
This is a great series and I look forward to more books showing up on Audible. Write more please, Juliet! I’m learning so much and love the challenge to thinking beyond the norm on equality in art value. So much yet not too much. Thank you so much for a great adventure. To a continued series (at least 10 more!). 🥂

LOL
I did not think I would like this series because I knew nothing about the field of art but the laughs drew me in. I had to keep stopping throughout the ending, which is somewhat slapstick, because I was laughing so hard.

Entertaining, Amusing
Not great literature, but it served my purpose -- keep me company (and awake) in the car during a period when I am doing a lot of driving. I may try another by these authors -- not sure.

Love this series. Witty, down to earth dialog. Hysterically funny. Frank or Michael...”what to do, what to do” as Annie would say

Fun mystery, fun characters, flawless narration
Love this series. A mostly clean yet slightly saucy cozy mystery with a dash of romance and a generous heap of humor. Xe Sands as always does a masterful job of rendering a likable protagonist who gets herself into ridiculous situations as well as a whole host of well defined characters and Blackwell’s trademark collection of swoon-worthy gents and dashing rascals. These are my pick-me-Up books when I need something entertaining and diverting but also well written and performed. Something I can laugh and guffaw to while not criticizing the writing or reading. Blackwell and Sands are the perfect team to turn a blah day into a fun one.
Can’t wait for the next one.
