About this listen

The day I first laid eyes on Abby Boyer, I knew she was the one. The girl I would marry and spend the rest of my life with, and I vowed to do everything I could to make her happy.

There was just one problem: I couldn’t make her happy during one of the darkest moments of our marriage. No matter how hard I tried, my love for her wasn’t enough to make her stay.

I’ve spent the last two years of my life trying to forget how much I still loved her.

Wouldn’t you know it, now that I finally managed to move on, Abby shows back up in Boggy Creek. Out of the blue. Here to stay.

They say time heals all wounds - well, two years wasn’t enough time to cover up the scars of our broken past, because I still feel the pain like it was yesterday. My wounds are still healing, and not even my love for Abby can fix us…but will that love allow me to forgive her and finally move on?

Second Chances

I’ve listened to a couple Kelly Elliott audios and read a couple e books. She takes the long way, but ends up at the HEA.

When I started this story, I was most definitely not rooting for this couple. I found them both selfish and not deserving of a second chance with each other. But…they started to grow on me, albeit reluctantly. I started seeing things from their point of view and found myself leaning towards their corner. I’m glad things turned out the way they did and look forward to more stories in this series.

Charming second chance!💜

I enjoyed this second chance romance for a married couple. I thinks it’s amazing when true love can overcome all the despair & heartbreak that comes from a devastating loss.
The second chance wasn’t just for the couple either. There were many family and friends who were effected by the decisions made. It was a bit redundant at times but I still enjoyed this story. Personal note: when I get married I’m totally going to have a flower man. ;)
The narration was really good. Both performances really captured the hearts of these characters.
This is book 3 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I recommend this book.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!

This is a fantastic second chance romance, one that grabs your attention and tugs on your heartstrings like no other. Kelly Elliott is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style and ability to create stories that contain a whole lot of charm and a whole lot of heart. Her characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are also easy to like and care about. Besides the fabulous characters is the setting of the story and the phenomenal world building, that said it is great to be back in Boggy Creek Valley. This book brings us Bishop and Abby’s story and what a story it is, the two have been in love with each other for years, a heartbreaking loss takes a toll on them and their marriage, Abby felt the need for space and ran, not just from their marriage but from Boggy Creek too. Bishop was heartbroken, but had to let her go, thinking it would be temporary, but when the divorce papers arrived, he lost it. Two years later he is still trying to move on and Abby, who has been living in Boston finally got the courage to do what she should have done the moment she knew she made the biggest mistake of her life, but she needed to heal her broken heart and gain strength to go home and face Bishop, as well as her family and friends. Her family and friends accepted and welcomed her home, but Bishop still held a lot of anger about her leaving and divorcing him. Abby can only hope that he can find forgiveness in his heart and if he does not want her back, she hopes they could be friends. This is such a beautifully plotted story, and I loved every minute of it, all the drama, the charm and camaraderie amongst the friends and family, the laughs, the cries and the wonderful second chance romance. Kelly Elliott, thank you for another amazing novel and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Laurie West and Christian Black continue to do an amazing job bringing these characters and their story to life. They have a complete understanding of the characters they portray, giving each a voice that suits each character’s persona, sounds believable in every role they play and just as I picture the characters to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture the characters’ emotions and projects them into their performance. These fabulously entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

Unique Twist

So this book is a love story romance. The couple had already been together, splits up early in the book and then they make their way back to each other’s arms and life. It’s not heavy on drama, it has some easy banter between the couple and their friends.

This is book three in the series and I felt a tiny bit lost at first but caught up quickly.

This book is narrated by Laurie West and Christian Black who are both new to me voice wise but not name wise. They are both very talented and I will definitely keep an eye out for them on the future.

Now excuse me while I go back to book one 😂

Should've been a novella

Sweet story overall, but the author takes way too long to get to the HEA.There's a lot of repetition that doesn't move the story forward. Most of the characters are severely immature, which makes this seem more like a YA novel with strong language and sex scenes; narration just OK. Probably won't seek out this author again.
