Heart-pounding and Sizzling Romance!

Wow, this first book in Elliott's Speed series has all the feels! This heart-pounding, second chance romance is the perfect mix of sass, suspense, and steamy. Adaline Morgan and Emmit Lewis have been friends, lovers, and soulmates since they were young. Emmit is an up and coming professional race car driver, and on the night of his most important win, his heart was broken. Adeline loves Emmit with all her heart, but just as he is realizing all his dreams, she has dreams as well. She wants to go to school to be a nurse, and if she travels the circuit with Emmit, she is afraid she will lose herself. So she asks for time, which blindsides Emmit. They try to make it work long distance, but over time, they lose touch, breaking both their hearts even more. Years later, Adaline is done with school and wants a second chance with the only man she will ever love. This story made me feel so many emotions. Emmit and Adaline are so perfect together. I loved how much Adaline trusted and believed in Emmit, and how sweet, romantic, and protective he was with her. Their story was sweet, fun, heart-pounding and passionate, and I couldn't help but cheer for their HEA!
Narrators Ava Lucas, and Tyler Johnson were wonderful bringing these characters to life. They magnified the doubt, heartache, joy, and passion of this story and I was totally lost in this world.
This is a beautiful, poignant, steamy romance, and I am excited to listen to the next book in this series.

Wonderful Second Chance Romance

Kelly Elliott is one of my go to authors and I thought I had read or listened to most of her books but Ignite slipped past me so I excited when I was given the opportunity to listen to Emmit Lewis and Adaline Morgan’s second chance romance. This book has all and I think I felt every emotion as I joined this couple on their journey but I have to say there were times I wanted to bang this couples heads together but when they finally felt and could see what I was seeing I was ecstatic.
Ava Lucas and Tyler Johnson did a wonderful job bringing the characters and their journey to life.
This is book one in the series and I’m excited for what’s to come in the next instalment.

Loved Emmitt and Adaline

I absolutely love everything that Kelly Elliott. Ignite is the first book in a new series from Kelly and I can’t wait for more. We are so used to getting sexy cowboys from Kelly so it was a nice change to read about some sexy race car drivers.

Emmitt Lewis is on the fast track to becoming the number one race car driver in the world and the only other thing he wants in life is for Adaline to be by his side as his wife. He assumes that she will follow him around the world so he can chase his dream but he has never asked her what she wants to do with her own life. He is completely heartbroken when he asks her a life changing question and doesn’t get the response he was hoping for. Adaline has her own goals and dreams in life and they don’t include following Emmitt around at this time in her life. As hard as it was to leave him she knows it is the best decision for her at this time in her life. They go on to chase their dreams separately but fate has a funny way of bringing people back together. After three years apart they finally come face to face and old feelings start to resurface. Will these two be able to find a way to make things work or will their chosen career paths continue to keep them apart?

I loved the deep connection between Emmitt and Adaline. This is a book about finding your one true love and doing whatever it takes to keep them. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. Kelly has a way of sucking you in from the very beginning and keeping you hooked until the very end. She has a beautiful way with words and her books continue to get better and better. I can’t wait for the next book in this new series from Kelly Elliott.

Emmit and Adeline!

Kelly Elliott is a new to me author and I really enjoyed this audiobook! Ava Lucas and Tyler Johnson were wonderful narrators who really had me feeling the emotions of Emmit and Adeline.

Emmit was the top nascar racer who had his heart broken by Adeline a few years prior. Addi wanted to pursue her own dreams and go to college etc. I liked that she had ambitions and went after them. Her family is very much involved in the racing world but eventually, they lose touch, and when Adeline comes back to a race weekend all those buried feelings resurface. Adeline does not make Emmit work hard to get her back and they were both immediately in. During their time apart Emmit eases his heartache with different women and drinking while Addi just dated casually with no action. I do wish that scenario would have been changed up but overall still an entertaining read that had me wanting to see them happy together. Enjoyable characters throughout and gave a great thrill to race days. Can't wait to see what happens with Malcolm in the next book.

Entertaining and gripping

Having read or listened to a number of books from Kelly Elliott I was surprised that I had not read the speed series. So when the opportunity came up to listen to Ignite, the first book in the series, I jumped at the chance. I quickly became invested in Emmit Lewis and Adaline Morgan’s second chance at love story.

There were times that I was frustrated by the lack of communication between these two but once they finally got on the same page, it was worth the wait.

The narration by Tyler Johnson and Ava Lucas really brought the characters and story to life for me and I really enjoyed their narration. Their voices were easy to listen to and Ava Lucas in particular used a variety of voices to portray the different characters.
