About this listen
Holmes and Watson are on the trail of seemingly unrelated deaths preceded by sudden unexplained madness as they work to solve the case of the abominable worm. Are the deaths murders? And if so, what is the motive and who is responsible? Can Holmes and Watson solve the mystery of the abominable worm before her Majesty's navy experiences an unprecedented two-fold loss.
Rebecca St. John has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in London's mysterious spiritual world and the hidden world of London's private clubs. But she wants more. She wants to be the next Professor Moriarty and she has the brains, the looks, and the drive to succeed if she can outwit Holmes and bring her first large scale criminal scheme to a successful conclusion.
Join Holmes, Watson, Mycroft, Inspector MacDonald and the Baker Street Irregulars on a cat and mouse high stakes game of mystery and deduction. This time, the game is afoot, and she is a formidable opponent indeed.

Be it the dilemma of an Indian princess on the run, perfectly healthy people dropping dead as divine punishment, being challenged to a duel, a heartbroken and suicidal young man, a beautiful woman claiming to be Mrs. Holmes, a little boy who loves his dog, an old Scottish ghost that traditionally haunts husbands of pregnant women - there is very little they haven't seen (and solved). Excellent story
A new criminal organization is rising from the shadows. Several high ranking men are having attacks of mental illnesses and others found dead and the deaths don’t seems to be connected. Fortunately, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are ready and able to investigate. Some creepiness with the reason for the brain fevers but very engaging story. The ending suggests we’ll hear more from this villain. There are still narration by Michael Langan is outstanding as always, and enhances the story.

Riveting
A riveting and compelling listen. The worm was perfect. It was easy enough and fairly clean method, but omg the after effects are sickening. Sherlock and Watson are tenacious in their efforts. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did an outstanding job bringing the characters and story to life.
