About this listen

Alexia D'Clere didn't ask to be Protector of the Spear, but after her dying mother gave her the tiny metal object and made her promise to keep it safe, she had no choice. Orphaned at age eight, she began to take over the running of her parents' castle with the help of a trusted steward. Yet when a plot to murder her was revealed, a friar whisked her away to live hidden in the forest. There she learned to shoot expertly with a bow and arrow and hone her skills to see into the spirit realm.

Now, at 18, Alexia continues to keep the Spear protected. With her powers of spiritual discernment and her skill as an archer, she is no match for those who come for the spear. That is until she meets Ronar LePeine, one of the King's elite guard.

Ronar desires nothing more than to do his duty to God and King and pay penance for past sins. Yet a forest sprite with flaming red hair blocks his every move, all the while enchanting him like no other. Something evil lurks at Castle Luxley, and both Ronar and Alexia are soon thrust into the middle of a spiritual battle that will not only test their very beliefs but put them both in mortal danger.

Christian Romance

The book was good and full of scripture, but it was a little too focused on the romance for my taste, and the kissing scenes a bit too heated. Highly recommended if you’re into Christian Romance, not so much if you’re looking for Christian Fantasy

The narrator is one of my favorites and does an excellent job.

Good Book!

The author took an interesting approach to the truth of spiritual battles between angels and demons. Though different and maybe a little too literal, I found it to be a very good book. It reminded me of the power of God, and how there are spiritual battles raging. Good book! I would definitely recommend it.

She walks in power

This is a very intriguing story. It is well written and the storyline is unpredictable. I couldn't stop listening to it. It reminded me a bit of Tamara Leigh's books which are among my favorite books. I will most definitely listen to the next book.

Romance, Adventure, Spiritual Warfare

For some reason I had this book on my to read list for a very long time and kept putting it off. I had a feeling that I may have previously started and stopped. (Untrue.) However, once I actually started reading it, I was completely caught up in it. It was a great adventure story and romance, with really great spiritual depth (and warfare).

interesting Christian romance.

it's an interesting Christian romance but that's about it. the romance is sweet but only in what would be considered a morally appropriate Christian standards. They only share a few kisses and they are fairly chaste ones. The ending was also fairly unsatisfying with a large chunk of the story very much unresolved. I'm disappointed but it wasn't the worst book I've finished. the narrator did a really great job though.

Yes!

This book is everything that I have looked for in a Christian romance. Hands-down one of the best I have read so far! I will be looking for more books from this author! Great story, lots of laughs, and a good time.

Christian Thieves ? It Works!

I loved the skills Mary Lu Tyndal uses to weave a Godly plot in with ungodly characters. The use of holy relics in an unholy time is realistic. The portrayal of the heavenly warriors and description of evil are realistic and scriptural. The narrator read 3/4 perfect. The first few chapters were too fast.

A story well told

A very well told story and well narrated. However, there is a bit too much occult and supernatural for the sensitive reader.
