Excellent

Loved it. Janny Wurts is a powerful writer.
She continued an amazing story, and world, created by Raymond E. Fiest Jr.

Excellent trilogy

Great narrator, great story. After reading it 20 years ago, it is a joy to revisit as beautifully done audio book.

So good. Amazing performance

This book is wonderful but the reader is what makes it truly enjoyable. She is fabulous

Such a pleasure!

I read these books 20 + years ago as a young girl and revisit them now as an adult and I am just as enthralled with this world and lessons it teaches.

Great Story

I read the Empire trilogy in high school about 25 years ago. This audiobook version of the trilogy is a lovely revisit. The story is honestly as good as I remember, the performance of this is great, and it works as standalone. I wasn’t interested in rereading any more of the rift war saga, just this story that I remember loving when I read it the first time. It did not disappoint. I am about to start Mistress of the Empire. Highly recommend

An excellent continuation of a great series

If the Riftwar Cycle was a macro look at the grandest stage of conflict, this series is a micro look at a single stage, and I thoroughly enjoyed the contrast.

I strongly disagree with the previous reviewer that this is a romance - its an enjoyable look into one families struggle for power. Sure, there is a romantic relationship, but it's the mechanism for changing hearts and minds, not the plot.

I will note that the recording has audio issues where it "fuzzes out" at times!

Intrigue, Conspiracy, Espionage and Action!

Wow, I thought Daughter of the Empire was exciting and this just draws the reader in even deeper!
