About this listen

Alex

Detached. Driven. Focused.

Those are the qualities that helped me win multiple Olympic medals, and when fate ended my swimming career early, those same qualities led me to run a thriving Manhattan restaurant business.

But all of my success did nothing to prepare me for Savannah Reese.

She’s beautiful, but also clumsy, awkward, and determined to make me question everything I ever believed to be true about myself. I thought I had all I wanted in life, until she shows me what I have been missing.

But she refuses to fall for my charm, especially once she’s hired by my business partner as a consultant.

Every word, every glance, every stolen touch, they only make me want her more. And for the first time ever, I want more than just one night with a woman.

Savannah

I came to New York for a fresh start and to prove that I could make it on my own. So far, so good. I’ve got a place to live, a job, friends, and cheap wine and Cheetos to keep me company at night.

I thought I was happy. Okay, I thought I was content.

Until Alexander Devlin comes along with all of his suave British charm. He’s the kind of man your mama warned you about. Arrogant, sexy, and dangerous to a woman’s heart. He’s also my boss. Which should make him off-limits.... Except he doesn’t seem to think so....

This sexy swimmer is out to seduce me, and I can only resist him for so long.

It’s my story of Affection & Fulfillment!

As a competitive swimmer, this story provides warmth and fulfillment in so many ways! I enjoyed the plot because it makes me happy.

Captivating

I’ve never listened to a book by this author. I was so impressed! Great story line, fantastic characters. Enough sexiness. And as a frequent curser, I loved the curse words haha. Enjoyed the narrators. Overall a fantastic listen. Can’t wait for more from this wonderful author!

Cute meet

Seductive Swimmer by Julia Jarrett
Narrated by Rupert Channing and Grace Grant

I read and listened to this one years ago so thought I had to do another listen and write a review 🤓

Julia Jarrett was at a signing I attended in July and will be at another event later this fall.

I think we read this in a book club a long while back. I enjoyed reading it. Alex and Savannah both swim at the same pool and both secretly enjoy the view of each other. but she believes him to be a player so doesn’t want to go there so just enjoys the view while getting exercise.

A chance meeting when Savannah goes to see her next clients has her meeting with Alex and his business partner. She a forensic accountant and is hired to help them see if there’s any problems with their books.

To say Alex is smitten enough to peruse her is an understatement. But he’s never really had a relationship before. But for her is willing to try. So they begin slow. With friendship that grows into more yet they both hold stuff from their past from one another a wee bit longer and it almost careened their relationship off course.

I loved their story but found it a bit weird with Savannah’s reluctance in her waiting on getting Molly from the pound where she volunteered. She loves Molly and everyone wanted to help her get him. As an accountant o, one would think she could afford to pay for the dog. But it creates a rift that eventually leads these two back together.

The narration was great. Anytime their a British accent involved count me in. *note to self, check for more books done by Rupert Channing ! Fans face * Grace was good as Savannah, better after I realized that I somehow turned the speed down 🤪

Overall a great book to listen to.

Great Chemistry

Savannah gets up early every morning because she likes to start her day with a swim, her choice of exercise to stay in shape. Of course it has nothing to do with he sexy seductive swimmer, Alex who always chooses the lane next to hers. He's got a British accent and a couple of Olympic Silver medals but he's a cocky player.
Savannah's independent practical nature collides with Alex's seductive arrogant personality and the two cause waves of chemistry.
Overall the story was hot, interesting and at times playful that tied up everything with a bow at the end, which was my favorite part. Seeing this former playboy fall for the practical accountant was both sweet and swoony.

Seductive Swimmer: A Hero Club Novel

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

GAH! I cannot believe I missed out on this release in 2021!

Overall, this story was delightful! There’s really only one tiny circumstance surrounding the story that made it less bright for me but I’ll go into that in a minute! I loved the meet-cute and the connection they had because of it! It was refreshing and unique. I love the choice to make this a slow-burn journey but I also hated how long it took for things to get going! LOL I loved that the friendship between them grew without first being intimate. This also was refreshing for me to read because you normally see both the friendship and the intimacy grow parallel to each other in a story. It gave them both authenticity and that thing (lol) I needed out of the story to believe in their HEA!

This is my first read/listen by Julia and I’m jumping straight into two ALCs provided by her, Always & Forever and Rumours & Romance, to listen & review as a promotion. I feel good about it :) and I think it’s going to make for an excellent #binge!

Now, for the not so great about Seductive Swimmer …

I have to admit that I wasn’t happy with the circumstance of adopting Molly the way it was written. It baffled me really and I had to suspend reality to the point where it just came across as ... well, dumb. Without doing any in-depth research, I am confident in saying that as a forensic accountant, Savannah made very good money. I know she wanted to pay off her student loans etc etc etc before the adoption, but seriously, you love this dog but yet you leave her in this facility over and over again when realistically, that didn’t need to happen. And by creating this plot-point that way, the story lost a lot of shine for me. *shrug*

Good narration. Did not enjoy the story.

The male narrator did a good job. Did not enjoy the female narrator as much. I thought the story had promise but 3/4 ways into the story I felt very irritated that Savannah was being unreasonable and whiny. I understand wanting to be independent but your boyfriend was doing nice things for you and you scolded him for it. And not enough money to adopt a dog from a shelter when you are an accountant?? I know many friends that have adopted adult’s dogs from shelters. The fees are several hundred dollars. And she got crazy mad when he adopted the dog for her before she was going to lose it. That’s just unreasonable.
