About this listen

One trip down the stairs, caused by a lone Lego, while wrapped in a towel, spewing a plethora of profanities, and my cell phone went flying.

I landed on my ass, and then the ER.

Between those two occurrences was a FaceTime call, placed by a bouncing phone, to the number of a man I didn’t even truly look at, who had now seen more of my body than anyone had since my Tinder days, over a year ago.

Three declined calls later, I limped out the door to get myself to the ER before starting my hectic day.

The ER was packed, but when I saw Nurse Bridget, one of my students’ mothers, I pleaded my case, and she hurried me into an examination room.

An hour later, I left on crutches with a bruised ass, a fractured ankle, and an appointment to see an orthopedic surgeon at four p.m.

Arriving 15 minutes late for that appointment, I heard the sexy yet very brash accent of a man who clearly had an obsession with punctuality and had, apparently, no bedside manner. Dr. Ethan Stewart, tall, copper-haired, sinfully sexy...was a total ass.

After a tongue-lashing about how irresponsible I was to, first, leave the ER with such an injury, and second, be late, I put him in his place...or so I thought.

Turned off by his arrogant attitude, turned on by the roguish glint in his green eyes and the way he spoke, I left his office a hot...and wet mess.

Upon exiting, my phone rang again. It was the same number from before, and I couldn’t help answering to give the caller a piece of my mind.

Once in my car, I hung up, tossed my phone on the passenger seat, and then looked out the window to see him with his phone to his ear and a grin spread across his far too handsome face. It couldn’t be.... Could it?

Hot Scotsman!

Wow this was a sweet steamy listen. I loved this story and a Scotsman....yes please. I have missed Will Watt's narration and this was everything along with Grace Grant bringing this to life. If you love audiobooks, this is romance in your ears! Loved it!

Humorous and Dramatic

4
I enjoyed listening to this romance between Ethan and Elizabeth. The storyline was different, with humor and drama complimenting each other throughout the book. I didn’t like that Ethan almost always called her by her full name or her proper name (Ms. Bluhm) it didn’t feel right for their characters or time period, it felt more like it was being forced.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the female narrator, her same gender characters hard to tell apart and her Scottish was a bit over the top. The male narrator I thought was good, minus some of his female voices.
Overall I enjoyed this audio and would recommend it.

Scottish, teacher, doctor, single dad, funny

Wow! Just perfect!

From the minute I started listening to this story I was all in until the end.
This story had the perfect amount of banter, steaminess and chemistry between Ethan and Elizabeth.
Add a child and a Scottish Terrier in the mix along with a gorgeous Scotsman and to me it was a winner.
I could have kept listening all night and was sad when it came to an end.
From the storyline to all the characters the book alone was amazing, then add in the narration and it went to the next level.
I will definitely listen to again.

Wonderful

What a sweet fun story. I loved it. The gruff, gorgeous Scottish doctor with a heart of gold and the wonderful, sweet Elizabeth were perfect together and I loved how they bantered with each other. I had so much fun with this story and found myself smiling a lot. I have to check out other books by this author because I enjoyed the way the story played out. It was an enjoyable 5 and a half hours.

The narration was really good and I listened to it via audible escape. I have to say that in most cases, the narrators were flawless. The one thing that really bothered me was that their narration for Simon was not English at all. I at the very least expected Will Watts to try for the accent! But by and large, it was so well done.

Spicy and good

If you like outlander, you’ll like this! Slightly predictable? Yes. But who listens to romance for surprises? The narration was great, the story was addictive and compelling. Loved the characters and such a fun listen.

A pleasant surprise.

I must admit because of the narration, baroque, and cadence of this story I almost quit listening several times. However, I persevered because I am a big fan of M J Fields books and the high number of good reviews. I am glad I did as after about a third of the book I became very interested in completing this story. I will also admit to being a big fan of the "Outlander" series of which I have watched twice now. The narration by Will Watt is interesting but couldn't keep me listening for long periods of time, so it took me a while to finish this book. When a voice resonates and holds you captive for 6 to 8 hours at a time, like James Patrick Nelson narrating "Hudson" by Laurelin Paige did to me, it makes all the difference in taking a good story over the top, so to speak. I do honestly recommend this book and feel the many good reviews are well deserved, so kudos M J another winner.

Hot Scot Dr.

Too Funny! I love it when a book can surprise me with a laugh. This one did at the opening, real life pain those LEGO's 🤣
Standalone with no Cliffhangers.
She doesn't trust easy. He has no time for a relationship. Yet the attraction is unstoppable.
Great believable story with emotion, depth, and heat.
Told from both POV with a great Scottish accent for him ❤️.
