About this listen

Grace Kelley isn't blond or demure, and she definitely isn't a princess. At the moment 15 dollars and a single peppermint stand between her and starvation. When she meets a teenaged girl in trouble, Grace's life takes a turn for the better. She goes from a homeless singer to a nanny in no time flat.

Professionally, Chord Robbins has the world at his feet. As the coach of the Super Bowl-winning NFL team, the Austin Lone Stars, there is nothing he can't do. But his homelife is hell. He has three kids and no discipline, and his wife left him for her yoga instructor. When Grace stumbles into his life, he promptly throws her out. But she won't stay away. Since he can't get rid of her, he hires her.

When these two get together, it proves that all is fair in love and football…and losing is just the beginning.

Romance Wins Again

Where does Saving Grace rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Somewhere around the middle. It's a cute romance story that is much better than most romance books. It was going good till they did the deed. Grace had a code of ethics that she tried to live by and was a good role model.

What other book might you compare Saving Grace to and why?

I don't read/listen to many romance stories so can't really compare to any other in this genre. So for me it stands alone as a fun and laugh out loud story.

Which scene was your favorite?

Has to be when Grace rescues Coco with a well placed knee to the would be rapists nether region. It was really funny and she is so cool and steady.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Might have wanted to but it's not realistic to have the time to listen all in one go.

Any additional comments?

I really liked Saving Grace, she had spunk, she thought things through before acting or speaking. Grace was just fun and the kind of mom most kids would love to have. I did like that she was playful but didn't lose sight that she was the adult.

I love this book!

I love this author! The books are always filled with love, romance, adventure and humor! The humor in this book is the best part. Kids say the strangest things. Grace is so funny too!

This story is about Grace Kelley, a singer also known as "The Nipple Lady" after a mishap on a tv show. One day to make money, Grace becomes a nanny. it was the best of all worlds until... (read the book to see what happened)

What a great story this book is. The author Katie Graykowski did the most awesome job on this book. The plot is great. The jokes & humor is wonderful. The narrator, Pam Dougherty did a fabulous job delivering this story to us with all her multiple voices and accents. With lots of laughs and excitement, completely flawless!

I LOVED this Book!

Any additional comments?

This was great, I loved it!! This book is book two in The Lone Stars series, but can be listened/read as a standalone. Grace Kelley is trying to make it as a singer, but has terrible luck. She is homeless, and broke. She is signing in a bar one night and sees a man trying to take advantage of a young girl. Grace steps in and helps the girl who ends up being a teenager who has snuck out of the house. Grace takes her home and has to deal with the father’s hateful girlfriend, who she ends up kicking out of the house. The father Chord is the coach of a Super Bowl winning NFL team and doesn't spend much time at home. Chord’s three children love Grace because she is firm and spends time with the kids. Chord offers Grace as a job as a nanny, so she gladly accepts the job. I loved all of the characters in this book. This book has romance, and laugh out loud moments. I loved the whole book and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

The narrator Pam Dougherty, did a wonderful job, and was very easy to listen too. Pam is one of my favorite narrators, every book that I have listened to by her I have enjoyed and this one was no different than the others. She did every characters voice different and was easy to tell which character was speaking.

I highly recommend this book!

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Funny, Sassy and Poignant!

Katie Graykowski has a way of making you laugh out loud, then snicker (usually when you just took a drink) and then before you know it your tearing up. If your looking for a book that is fun and will touch your heart then look no further. This reads fine as a stand alone, but book one Perfect Summer is a great place to start!

Grace Could Do Better

While I found parts of Saving Grace to be warm and funny, I didn't buy into the basic plot or really like the main male character Chord. I did enjoy Grace, the children, and assorted football players - I just thought Chord was self absorbed jerk.

First, single dad Chord hired Grace to move into his home and take care of his 3 children without getting personal references or doing any kind of background check or drug screening. Really? Instead of worrying about leaving his kids with a total stranger, Chord was concerned that Grace might steal business information, which I guess he considered more valuable than his offspring.

Next, Chord kept bashing his ex-wife for not wanting to be a full-time mother, while he freely admitted to working 60 hours a week and putting his career before his family. Chord also griped that the mother of his children complained too much about being tired and uncomfortable while she was carrying his twins. What an ass! He had the easy part of conception - If men had to give birth, the human race would become extinct

Since I wanted Grace to find a better man, I lost interest in how Saving Grace ended.
