Publisher's summary
After Libby finishes her Christmas shopping, all she wants is a cup of hot chocolate by the fire. Making her way through the snow, she empties her packages into the trunk of her car. As Libby is about to close it, something is wrong … the car is running! Realizing her mistake and that this car isn’t hers, she hurries to the driver’s window to apologize. Libby is surprised to find it empty. Opening the door, she hears a noise in the back and discovers a toddler in his car seat, wearing a Santa hat, smiling at her. “Where is your Mommy, little one?”
And so begins a delightful holiday love story … an endearing, heartfelt romance, making you sigh with pleasure at the end.
It’s a book you’ll share with others and read more than once."

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

Story
Gabriel Ferrara is tall and handsome, and most days she wants to stab her eyes out with a pencil, anything to stop her seeing his perfection. How any female could work in these conditions and not be completely besotted with him is beyond her. Then he opens his mouth and she remembers why. He's bossy and sarcastic, with a wit so sharp it could cut glass. Every weekend is the same . . . while he's off living his dream life, she's counting down the days until Monday when she sees him again.

Rave reviews for "Santa Baby" A Holiday Romance
One of the hardest literary genres to "get right", is romance novels. In many books of this type, the lack of chemistry between the main characters is painfully obvious, or the plot moves too quickly or at a snail's pace, not letting one enjoy the journey fully.
Enter J. S. Peck, and her new romance audiobook, Santa Baby, masterfully narrated by Lee Papa. The book starts with a bit of a cliffhanger, that draws you in immediately and delivers you gently back to reality 3 hours and 54 minutes later.
Libby, the main character in "Santa Baby", moves back to the small town that she grew up in, leaving behind an ill-fated relationship on the West Coast. She meets a man (actually two eligible men) and a baby..."Santa baby". From then on, things could have become formulaic, but Ms. Peck rewards the reader with anything but the mundane. The characters are multi-dimensional and immensely likable, the plot is believable, the plot twists are clever, and the ending is everything you could ask for, including requisite tears of joy, from a smart, modern romance. You will cheer the ending, and be gladdened that Ms. Peck will regale us with more from Libby and her family in her next book!
Along with an amazing and sexy plot, the narrator is an important part of the enjoyment of the story. When given a choice to read a hardcover or listen to an audiobook, I almost always chose the hardcover, because I "think" I know what the characters should sound like in my head...well, Ms. Papa certainly knows how to resonate with the reader, giving the perfect voice to each character. The subtle nuisance and inflection that Ms. Papa invented made each character recognizable after a few pages! One of the few narrators that I know of who is this talented would be Susan Erickson, who has immortalized Eve Dallas in JD Robb detective series.
If you love the romance genre but have mouthed recently, "been there, done that", and relegated many books to the dustbin, you will be enchanted with "Santa Baby" by J.S. Peck, read by Lee Papa

Loved it!
Absolutely loved this story. It had everything - romance, friendship, family, and the complexities of life all wrapped up in the specialness of the holiday season. The characters were so like-able, and I love how the author beautifully pull everything together and concluded so wonderfully at the end!

Santa Baby – A holiday romance, book 1
I was a little skeptical upfront, as the topic I assumed was not going to be interesting, or appealing for me – maybe too sentimental. But I had to let go of my feelings, the feeling listening to Santa Baby – A holiday romance. And that is that from chapter one till forty-four the characters Mikey, Libby, Mathew, Joe, Bruce let me in their lives.
I only can describe the listening experience as exceptional, amazing, and brilliant – the use of figurative language, the right amount of forward, yet also scenes stopped descriptively – it felt exciting and lively. I also found it appealing that the characters asked themselves questions, though the answers weren't always clear and kept me wanting more. Particularly emotionally charged, when negative or positive feelings were expressed. Yes, the story had concrete depictions, they were interesting precisely because of the details.
"Only Joe, can make Joe happy … Hello beautiful … get away from controlling everything, and just let things be …"
Yes, emotion caught me all the time, till the very end.
I particularly enjoyed the narrative tone, the art of differentiated use of language, precise formulation, transparency of the voice, the clever use of adjectives, the vocal nuances, the vocal pitch. Yes, it had it all for me, that is reason, logic, and emotion.
Thank you for the gift of the promotional copy.
