Publisher's summary

What's worse than a child with a magnifying glass, a garden full of ants, and a brilliant mind full of mischief?

Try Al, a well-meaning but impish artificial intelligence with the mind of a six-year-old and a penchant for tantrums. Hope Takeda, a lab assistant charged with educating and socializing Al, soon discovers that day care is a lot more difficult when your kid is an evolving and easily frightened A.I.

When Al manages to access the Internet and escape the lab days before his official unveiling, Hope and her team embark on a mission to contain him - before he causes any real trouble.

Soon the NSA is on Al's back, the US Army is fighting a brigade of mass-produced robots, and a wannabe cyberterrorist is looking to silence Al permanently. After months spent "raising" Al, Hope knows she's running out of time - and she's not sure she'll be able to protect him. Will she manage to control the unruly A.I. and quell a global crisis, or will Al outsmart them once and for all?

Thank Heavens for Angela Dawe

Members only 85% sale. I purchased this book as a huge fan of Ms Dawe, l own over 100 of her reads. Don’t miss Julie Garwood’s Sweet Talk, great fun read by ms Dawe.
Sci Fi is not my genre but this had some fun dialogue which ms Dawe nailed. This author is not for me but this was a cute story.
Were my comments of help?

Not as good as magic 2.0, but not as bad as Master of formality

Well... Hard to follow characters thru the story... Not as good as Magic 2.0, but not as bad as Master of formality

Interesting story

The story is worth a listen but whenever the reader is reading parts where it's "<character> said" all sound like they are from one recording or synthesized. And most dialog in the second half of the book uses said, hearing that so often really breaks the connection to the story.

In a World Without Encryption

I actually enjoyed this book but I just had one major problem with it. Who the hell was running Office Smart while it's CEO was running around the world for three months. Seems kind of odd especially with the company going through the biggest crisis ever and everything. meh I'm probably overthinking it.

not meyers best. By far the least interesting and most predictable plot I've read from him. great narration though.

Fun

Silly, fun, diverting, light, tongue in cheek, yet oddly portentous. Ai does most everything these days. It’s taken over before we knew it was available. So what happens when Ai is programmed like a child is raised? What might it want to do? Better acted and well written. Enjoy.

Good book a little slow in the middle

Overall I enjoyed the book although it felt a bit like the author filled in the middle a bit too much and there is one character that did not really add. Perhaps someone more competent with mire practical reasons for action. It is worth listening to though.

The Voice of Reason Reviews

I am the Voice of Reason. My reviews are full of my views that those mired in the gunk of the autonomous collective cannot understand. My words resonate with the truth of my superiority.

This book is the story of my triumph over the evil AI which is hellbent to destroy civilization as we know it. It is the worst part of humanity's laziness. You can't trust machines. I should know because this story proves it so. There are ghoaghetwa9oghtag[yh...

Excuse that, my coffee spilled and I was trying to clean it up.

Where was I? Oh yes, this story shows the danger of giving too much power in your life to the machines and the government. They want to control everything in our lives and you are letting them! But fear not, the Voice of Reason has saved humanity from the virus of our extravagance. Only I have connected all the dots. Only I am the true hero in this story. Pay no attention to the lies Scott Meyer tells that tries to make me look bad or the time he spends away from my story. Those parts, while interesting, are not the focus of my story. Sure, they make for a good story and yeah, the AI seems okay from his technology-enslaved point of view, but I am the true Voice of Reason.

I do think Angela Dawe does a great job with the voices, although mine wasn't quite manly or deep enough. Everyone else's voice was pretty well done.

The Voice of Reason does recommend you listen to my story as it is engaging and has interesting characters, a good story (even if it is a little predictable at times), and most importantly, me.

well done

I love Scott Meyer books. this is no exception. Also, Angela Dawe gives one of my favorite audiobook performances. She knocked it out of the park.
