Publisher's summary

Grace is at the center of the Christian faith, and yet it’s so often misunderstood, abused, and misrepresented. This book explores what happens when the incomparable power of God’s grace meets our deepest needs.

Encountering the incomparable, immeasurable grace of Jesus is like getting run over by a freight train: you’re powerless against it, it takes you where it wants to, you can’t do anything to stop it, and it dramatically changes everything. The grace train is the most powerful thing in the universe and also the most beautiful.

Grace is one of the most important concepts in Christianity, and it’s also one of the most misunderstood, misapplied, and most abused. Run Over By the Grace Train explores the topic of grace: what it is, how we receive it, and how it changes absolutely everything about us. In this deep, spiritually rich book, Joby Martin offers nine key lessons central to understanding God’s grace as the central theme of the Christian life. Joby helps listeners dig deep into scripture and understand that we are saved by grace alone, grace can’t be lost, grace does not condemn, and the sinner and the saint both need God’s powerful grace in equal measures.

Deep, rich, and life-changing, this book written in Joby’s characteristic straight-talk, wry style that entertains as it teaches. Run Over by the Grace Train is an ultimately encouraging, inspiring, and fulfilling look at the power of God’s grace.

Critic reviews

“Joby wrote this book with the same biblical precision, passion, and conviction with which he preaches, and you will be so blessed to read it. With Joby's signature sense of humor, you will laugh and also be moved to tears when you learn of the grace of God upon your life... This book is essential for those who want to know the truly abundant life in Christ.”—Phil Hopper, Lead Pastor, Abundant Life Church, Author
“In Run Over by the Grace Train, author Joby Martin beautifully explains how grace is at the foundation of a life of faith, and why so many of us fail to understand its rich complexity. Using rich biblical ideas, relatable analogies, and real-world application, this book demonstrates our powerlessness to save ourselves, paving the way for God’s immeasurable grace to rescue us and lead us into a deep relationship with himself. Anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of how God’s unfathomable grace will transform our lives should read this book.”—Dave Ferguson, author of B.L.E.S.S.: 5 Everyday Ways To Love Your Neighbor & Change The World

“As always, Joby hits the bull’s eye with a rare mix of humor, theological precision, and practical application. If you want a better understanding of God’s grace in our world and your life, this book is for you.”—Larry Osborne, North Coast Church

Awesome

Very well wrote. Joby gave practical examples that relate parables and other scripture to our modern world in ways that make sense. Don't listen if you are easily offended or are the prosperity gospel type. I learned alot about the significance of certain things that I had no idea about. The prodigal son parable was one that I had read through and didn't think much of. Now that I know the significance being Joby gave history and cultural references. If your new to the faith this is a good listen, or if your a veteran Christian it's still good.

A must read!

Pastor Joby always has a spiritually gifted way of unpacking the gospel. This book does an exceptional job of explaining the scandalous, unmerited grace that only comes from God.
