About this listen

Valentine’s Day becomes a Roman holiday for a princess in disguise in a dizzyingly romantic short story about making wishes come true by the USA Today bestselling author of The Chemistry of Love.

Princess Ilaria has had it up to her tiara with the paparazzi, her own wild reputation, and the public eye. Trading places with her assistant, Ilaria wants just one blissfully ordinary weekend. Then a handsome photographer with a sexy Scottish burr offers to be her guide. Sparks fly, but how long can they last? Ilaria’s secret has to come out—and it could ruin a perfectly serendipitous romance.

Sariah Wilson’s Royal Valentine is part of The Improbable Meet-Cute, irresistibly romantic stories about finding love when and where you least expect it. They can be read or listened to in one sitting. Let’s make a date of it.

The story was very cute and part of a fun group of short stories but the narrator made this performance wonderful. Really enjoyed listening to her.

Fantastic Narration

I really liked the premise for this story, but the ending was extremely disappointing. I did not like Callum’s response when he found out who she was or the fact that his mother convinced him to behave otherwise.

Cute Story, Terrible Ending

The story was good. It felt like a Hallmark Christmas movie. The narrator put on accents that were almost to the point that it was unbearable. I don’t understand why we are using accents. All it does is make it hard to understand and I can’t use it as background noise because I have to focus on what they’re trying to say…

Accents almost made me DNF

I really enjoyed this short and sweet story through Audible. Of course, I am a sucker for anything close to Roman Holiday. The narrator gets an A for effort but tbh the accents were distracting. Thankfully, the princess adopted English for most of the story. Callum was almost as lovely as Darcy.

I enjoyed listening to this story. Though the plot was typical, it did hold my attention. Mainly it was the accents.

Interesting Accents

I listened to the audio book of this, and the narrator did a really good job imo. I found her accents believable and really felt her passion and emotion in her performance. I have loved every single one of the books and stories in The Improbable Meet Cute series, but this one really did me in. I connected with the main character’s feeling of not being able to live the life you want because of familial expectations. And to find everything you’re looking for only for it to not work out hit home a little too hard. Like, so hard I could not stop crying. My eyes hurt and I’m kind of disappointed in how quickly everything was resolved, felt like there could have been some more time in between the end of the trip and the party, but I digress. Also, I really loved both of the mothers’ responses and humor in the situation. Really made me giggle.

I BAWLED LIKE A FRICKIN BABY

Wanting to have time for herself under the anonymity of her PR looks she dressed herself down to explore what Rome has to offer and along the way meeting that other person who is exactly on the same spot as you.

Wasn't the best of all the novellas in this series
But! It was cute, I love the trope, the MFC was everything I wanted in this trope. The twist was amazing I didn't even thought about it and that's why I give this one 4 ⭐

Cute 💕
