Acerca de esta escucha

THE ASSASSIN: A cold and emotionless killer for whom every soul has a price, even his own, embarks on a path to find out just how high that price can be.

THE MERCENARY: A dark elf of limitless guile dares to challenge a king and carve for himself a place in the inhospitable World Above.

ILNEZHARATA and TAZMIKELLA: Ancient dragons of great power, accustomed to easily manipulating the humans around them. But not all humans are so easily led. When they pushed Entreri and Jarlaxle into the heart of the Bloodstone Lands, not even they could have imagined the strength of the human assassin's resolve, or the limitless expanse of the mercenary's ambition.

Reseñas de la Crítica

David Colacci is admirable in his narration of this epic fantasy, which is Tolkienesque in its dwarves and elves and magic and quests.... Road of the Patriarch is a bit more adult than the usual fare from this author. This is a gritty and bloody book, with a bit of sex as well." ( AudioFile)

No one other than Victor Bevine should've narrated this. Very good tale, very bad narrator

Good story well ended

A final conclusion of Artmis, or is it.? Well read, and exciting. Hope to hear more from this trio.

Exciting

While I do enjoy Victor Bevine as a performer, I must admit that David Colacci's Athrogate is by far my favorite!

I've listened to and read all 33 books in this series over and over again and find myself enjoying this book; the adventures of Jarlaxle and Entrerei, as one of my all time favorites.

BWAHAHA!

excellent

Salvatore is a good writer but he is getting predictable. Evil corrupt religious guy; check. Long drawn out fight scenes where main guys don't get a scratch; check. Lots of modern/liberal sensibilities; check. It also feels as though most of his good characters were written in the past and he is just cashing in on them. Still his writing is easy to read and entertaining.

Good but not great

I hate to see the ending of the trilogy of Artemis and Jarlaxle. I really enjoy the duo and their pragmatic ends to justify the means of their adventures. It's much different than Drizzt and his conscience that he is always at war with. I also enjoyed the history learned about Artemis and Athrogate. Athrogate is a welcomed addition also to the story. The only tiny downside was the narration. I had become quite accustomed to Victor Bevine but I eventually adjusted to the different pronunciations of names and words. I recommend this book.

Good enough ending

Drizzt

This book fleshes out characters surrounding Drizzt and is really great by itself. I recommend it.

Great addition to the Saga

Nothing against the new narrator but it took me over half the book to get used to the new voices. When I did I enjoyed it but then it was over. Not sure why it changed but it made a difference.

Tried to like it

After listening to many, many books by R.A. Salavore narrated by Victor Bevine, I couldn’t help but be disappointed by the narrator for this book. Amongst his many mispronunciations (believe me, you’ll have to get used to “share-ron’s claw”), similar voices for some characters, and sometimes flat performance, there were reasons to keep listening. At some points, the narrator puts satisfying emotion into lines in a way V.B. never has. The narrator isn’t afraid to get loud when required, and he does put some interesting spins on some characters.

While I can’t help but feel like this story would have been better narrated by Victor Bevine, the narration is passable. In terms of the story, I’m not sure if it was the narrator that made it feel a little disjointed, or if it was the writing. You decide—definitely worth the listen, at least.

Narrator threw me for a loop
