About this listen

When the Jensen family sends a new generation out into the world, they always keep the homefires burning - and rifles loaded - just in case they bring trouble back with them.

Smoke Jensen’s daughter Denny can outride, outrope, and outshoot any man who gets in her way. But being a pretty woman, Denny sometimes attracts the attention of unsavory suitors. Like the lecherous Count Malatesta. Denny met the seductive Sicilian on her trip to Europe - and almost fell head over heels for the swindler. What’s he doing in America?

Seems the heartbreaking hustler has huge gambling debts to pay off - and a deadly scheme to scam money out of the Jensens. But Denny’s got a plan, too - to shake off this silver-tongued stalker no matter what it takes, from a ghost town shootout to a blood-soaked showdown at the Sugarloaf Ranch. Alert: Where there’s Smoke, there’s gunfire.

the narrator

Needs a different narrator. I've listened to I've 100 william johnstone graphic audios and Alejandro was the worst narrator. it almost sounds like I'm listening to one of those dateline true crime type shows. really distracting

Rising Fire

This is a good book about the Jensen's. This book is more about Denny. An old boyfriend of Denny's came to Big Rock. Denny hates him. He's a con artist. (Count). He has plans to use Denny to get money. There is a lot of action in this book and an excellent story line. I have high hopes for Denny and Brice. They could have there own series. I've listened to both versions of this book and I enjoyed this one the best. There should be an extra star for books this good. The narration is perfect. I heard some voices I've never heard. They were perfect for the characters. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you

Old Europe meets Wild West

I liked this book. It had a lot of twist and turns in it. Learned some about Deni Jensen time in Europe. Good to see her and Brice getting closer (dangerously so). Nice save the day ending.

Narrator is AWFUL and storyline is hard to follow

The narrator sounds like an artificial voice that reads weather warnings. I think he got hired for the wrong project! The storyline is a whole other issue. So many characters and storylines going on. We are on a 23 hour road trip and wasted our monthly audible credit on this nonsense! Don’t do it! This one is terrible compared to the first two in this series! Don’t bother!
