Publisher's summary
Rhythm is a college student in DC who learns of Moses King, the man who started the Disciples, the largest street gang in Chicago. She reads his court case, and the inconsistencies in his trial transcripts leads her to write him, asking him if he really did kill the Black Chicago congressman Perry Homes and rape his wife, Fiona.
It seems unlikely; Moses started the Disciples to make a positive impact on the Black community. The Disciples head up book drives, they feed the hungry, and they start free breakfast programs with the Panthers. The letters start to flow back and forth, and Rhythm changes her major to criminal justice and becomes an attorney to fight the system that has incarcerated the man with whom she has fallen in love.

A must Read or listen
This project was so unexpectedly insightful and inspiring. I loved it. It gave you a true inside look on corruption, survival and systemic racism. It was so good I didn’t even cringe at the profanity, because it was real life issues and feeling. If our people could half was so what this story suggested, we would be in a much better place in society. Even though we may not be able to execute the plan as it was presented in this book, we can start somewhere. I’m inspired! Great thought provoking work❤️
