One evening in 1951, an itinerant storyteller arrives unannounced at a house in the Irish countryside. In exchange for a bed and a warm meal, he invites his hosts and their neighbors to join him by the wintry fireside and begins to tell formative stories of Ireland's history. Ronan, a nine-year-old boy, grows so entranced by the storytelling that, when the old man leaves abruptly under mysterious circumstances, the boy devotes himself to finding him again.

Excellent series
The Irish Boarding House and Return to the Irish Boarding House are full of characters who become "so alive" they are like people you know. Their lives are rich in many ways. It was a pleasure to spend the hours with them.

Another Sweet Story
Like the first book, I just love to have bunch of story lines that come together. I love that this is a book about women supporting women with no shame or conditions. I just love Eliza and she made me LOL multiple times.

Better than the first one, IMO
I enjoyed this one more than the first. There were more characters to keep track of in this one but easy to follow each one.

Not as compelling as the 1st in the series.
I completely enjoyed the 1st in this series but this one felt thrown together. It was not bad, just not as good as the 1st.
