Acerca de esta escucha

Walt Longmire is back after the escapades of First Frost and encounters one of his most baffling cases in Wyoming’s brutal and unforgiving Red Desert.

When Blair McGowan, the mail person with the longest postal route in the country of over three hundred mile a day, goes missing the question becomes—where do you look for her? The Postal Inspector for the State of Wyoming elicits Sheriff Longmire to mount an investigation into her disappearance and Walt does everything but mail it in; posing as a letter-carrier himself, the good sheriff follows her trail and finds himself enveloped in the intrigue of an otherworldly cult.

Packed to the brim with twists and turns, the 21st novel in the New York Times bestselling Longmire series pushes Walt to his absolute limits, forcing him to wrestle with the impossible question: What good are your morals, if you’re marked for the dead letter office?

I began as a fan of the Longmire TV show. Once I found the books, I was hooked. Craig Johnson found a kindred spirit in George Guidell. Wonderful novel.

Love George Guidell as a narrator

This Longmire had a little bit of a goofy storyline - not as solid as most of the others - but overall, it was a reasonable addition to the series. As always, GG did a great narration.

Always good

I liked the story overall, I mean, how can you go wrong with a Sheriff Longmire story narrated by George Guidell...but the pace was a tad slow. The only thing I did not like was that at the end, the author never addressed what dog was doing the whole time he was "missing." Are we really to believe he just went back to the truck and waited?

The fragility and strength of senior citizens!

I love both the easy-going nature of Walt, the sheriff of Absoroka County, as well a George Guidall’s superb narration.

A very enjoyable read!

Craig Johnson does it again in creating a Walt Longmire story that is original and wonderful read. Enjoyed the extra parts with “Dog”.

Great as Always

George’s telling of stories is always on point! Another great book by Craig Johnson. Although, I did miss the traditional characters of Henry and Vic

Narrators truly do make the story!

This was a great line spoken numerous times in the newest Longmire story- as always, an adventurous tale, with a great main character, this time set in the deserts of Wyoming.

We all love Walt. This is obvious, as we have loved our way through, and stuck by him for the previous 20 stories. And by book 21, we know him pretty well - how he's going to act, and react. There aren't too many surprises left. Not that we need surprises, but we do need what The Bear, Vic, Katie and Lucian bring to the plot and character development. I miss this when they are absent. So, I very much hope his next tale includes them full time. No kidding.

"You've got to be kidding!"

I've never left a 4 star review for a Longmire book, but this one was just sad. I miss hearing about Ruby, Henry, and the other characters from Absaroka county. this was pretty much just Walt.
I miss having the humor in these books where you would burst out laughing in public as you listened. I hope the next one is back to the basics of the series. More Fun, and with our usual band of misfits.
As always, George brings these books to life. I have the performance 5 stars.

I miss the other characters...

I love Walt Longmire. Thanks for continuing his story, but I want more of Henry and Vic.

I know George Guidall has narrated most of these books, but honestly his voice rumbles and is sometimes difficult to understand.

Walt lives on

I missed Henry and Vic, but it was still a really good story. I don’t ever want the story to end.
